It's pretty darn bright, I have never had an interior light,so it's kinda nice. my girl bought for my birthday

So does it still work of the original circuit? As in does it still turn on automatically when the doors are open or is it purely a push on and off?

I could have done it either way, I chose to wire direct, so its an on-off switch, it is running through stock wiring loom

that light pulls .34th's of an amp...so you could totally run this off your stock circuit and never have an issue..
