Finished up my tool roll, this thing came out pretty nice, it 45x30 when folded out, three zipper compartments.

so do you have a rough shape in mind? how many bottles are we talking about?

so it sounds like you want same shape as chair case just shorter, when you same semi rigid, are you talking like a hard floor in it

ok, i put more thought into it. 6 bottles around(3 on top of 3) and 5 bottles long. total of 30. yes a hard bottom maybe a strip of plastic sewed in 3 bottles wide and the full length if that makes sense. almost a full length zipper with a shoulder strap where the zipper begins and ends or wherever it ends up being most stable. maybe a small strap at the ends for pulling out of the truck

I just put 6 bottles together,looks like 7 would make for more of a rounder shape, I'm drawing sketch right now, but I'm thinking 8" round 40" long 35 bottles total

could go same style but square, 8" wide 5.5" tall, with floor being thin plastic sewn between fabric, double layer, rip stop fabric on outside, maybe thermal silver looking fabric with 1/4 of batting between the two fabrics, I'm going to town this weekend, ill go look for inside fabric

On my last Moab trip I just bought a flat of water bottles and then just left them under the plastic until I wanted to put a few in the small cooler.  This is way more OCD...

Maybe some D-rings on the ends to tie it down with?

Every trip I do the same thing. I buy a flat of 40 from Costco just like LO is talking about, however I utilize them as my ice for my cooler. I freeze about 25 of them solid and they make the base of ice in my large cooler. Works great because you get double duty out of them. They will stay frozen for 3 days or so and if you run out of non frozen water bottles you simply need to pull a couple of the frozen ones out and let them thaw.
