I've had a lock right in my v6 carrier in the front for the past 4 years with no issues.

If you need someone to build you a solid third, I'm very very competitive on install prices.

Cool, thanks but I'm setting my own.

I did watch you set the gears at the Springs this year. Peanut Butter... excellent ;)

One of my buddies is picking me up a Tacoma non-locker rear axle. The mysterious Toyota 8.4 third ;) . So after I pull the third and re-gear it, its going under the truck. No more rear spacers :)  Also inboarding the springs and putting the detroit locked third in the front. I'll have a 4cyl Aussie Locker for sale here shortly.

Anyone seen a good thread with lots of pictures on inboarding springs? I want to see different designs on the front hangers.

Those look pretty good. Sadly I can not add any tech, I have not looked into inboarding yet. Does Ruffstuff having that could help? Maybe get a set of Ftoy shackles?

Those do look nice! The price isn't bad either.

Prototype :) New rear shackle design. Will end up between 7-10" eye to eye. Sides should be 1/4", plating will be 3/16". These will run on the inside of the rear crossmember, not on the back like most.

Looks good man. Do you have any more pictures of your air bumps? Mounting and where it hits the spring?

Thanks. How do you like them?

I'm still dialing them in but they work great. At MCR my rear was hitting the poly bumps all the time and I could feel it in my back. The front never hit hard but I could hear them tapping then I was on them. I also found that they don't do great for stopping the suspension from maxing out slowly, instead they will compress until bottomed out. They do their job on the faster/harder hits.

Slolyfe

Yea. I am going with a tg front axle and wanted something for whoops.

Keep them spring flush with the frame, its saved me from getting hung up a few times.

I can't. I had to leave them 1" below the frame to keep ride height. I even added the #4 leaf back in to make them 4" springs again. In the end it'll be a 3" lift. I'm working on plating the inside of the frame for the hangers.

Thanks guys.

Not quite but it's a start. I have to re-arrange the shocks but I'm out of supplies. 10" shocks are an exact fit for vertical travel but I'd really like some wiggle room. So..... I need to build the setup with 12" shocks in mind for down the road.

I have been reading around that Tacoma axles are made from thinner material than the IFS axles most people are using... So, I am plating the axle where the perches attach and I'm gusseting the top of the entire axle.

Dont forget to protect the diff.

Oh yes. That is a must. I was thinking a 10" pipe cap would work very well. I dont think anyone makes this diff cover.

John Doe

I thought the regular 8" still fit? If nothing else it should not take to much work to trim 1 to fit. I just know that the *" pipe cap I used o my front end was very heavy. I will never use a pipe cap again.

The Tacoma axle I have had a 8.4 diff and its more bulbous. I'll post a picture later.

What do you think? Axle brace across the top, .125" or .188"? I bought .188 and it looks a bit heavy but then again, these axles are thinner apparently and I have the material.
