Its all plug and play as long as it came out of a 4 cyl vehicle to begin with. You just cant hook up the oil pressure unless you have the correct sender otherwise you will toast the gauge.

I have done most everything but injectors.. I was hoping to not have to take the intake off, but I just may have to :(

Worked on making a summer top from my $40 craigslist find...

Pretty much all done just need to spray it black..
This is pretty much the exact same as what I had on my old runner...

you just have to take the upper plenum off  . very easy  4 bolts  2 nuts .   well i dont have a egr  so that would be 2 more bolts   just roll the plenum over on top of the valve cover . take the 2 bolts out of the fuel rail and the injectors come rt out .  very easy to do though

Sweet build. I like the summer top idea, along with where you had the CB in your old runner. Very clean

Update: Bought some marlin parts.. havent done it in years it felt good :)

Also... I am thinking that I am going to buy another 4runner I found on craigslist..
I am buying it so I can do a body swap... take the straight super clean sr5 body and put it on this chassis and sell off this 4runner body...
I just like having a really clean ride so I think in the long run this will be best instead of trying to clean up what I have now.

We started rebuilding the knuckles last night.. its looks as though at one point someone actually cared about this truck.. stuff was painted, but it has been neglected for a while...

I was stoked to actually get it apart and find that it had the longfields as advertised!

Cleaning

Got it almost all back together last night.. we decided to stop since air got into the brake lines and now I need to go by a brake vacuum deal to suck the air out since pumping the brakes doesnt do anything...

Then yesterday I picked up a little gem...

So the deal with this thing is that its an 87 SR5 - and its loaded! Power windows, power locks, two compartment console, map lights, sunroof,... it has just about every option that could come on the first gen 4runners.. and even though its brown, its pretty much perfectly straight!
So the plans will be to get this body off and put it on the solid axle swapped frame that is the white runner... Should be a pretty straight forward body swap since they are both 22re 5-speeds. Heck I may even hook up the AC and the cruise control! So if anyone is looking for a decent 4runner shell that is complete with interior let me know I will have an extra soon ;)

What are you gonna do with all the parts you don't need?  I got a 91 that needs a tranny, motor, a spare t-case, power steering and some seats.

I'm going to put the white body back onto the ifs chassis and try to sell it whole for cheap, but if that doesn't work I will part it out. The things I need to keep are the t-case ( I need one for duals), the front cv driveline and I think that's it.. so I will have all you need minus those two items.... The extra motor leaks oil yet runs really good.. has high miles... which means the tranny does too... yet I drove it to work, and it was fine.. motor idled kinda high though.. at about 1300.. but it was really smooth, no smoke. If you are interested in a package deal let me know..  pm me an offer :)

I wonder how they managed to keep the seats that clean but still thrash the carpet like that.

That's a good question, I have no idea! I don't understand how people can be such slobs and trash their vehicles!

Got a couple new parts...

This is a cool factory Toyota work light (hanging light) that plugs into the factory accessory light plug right next to the fuel door release under the dash on SR5 models... Its nothing special but kinda cool to have..

Then my Marlin rear bumper was delivered today  :eyebrow:

No, I don't need 4.7's.. stock duals are great for me.. had them before with no complaints and no real need to go lower.
