I got my IROKs on tuesday, and my wheels should be here tommarow. Im finnishing up converting my 2wd transmission to 4wd so it shouldnt be long till its driveable, but then theres all of the crap like the belly pan, cage, rewire the whole truck, propane to replace the carb etc...etc...etc...
sick.  how big of tires did you get?

inmyownsummerami

36-13.5-15. Cant beat Summit, all I paid for shipping was $8 per tire. Ordered them on Sat. night got them tues. night.

How big of a tire can you get before they charge you for truck freight?

Im not sure. I was pricing out the 39.5s and I think the shipping went up to $30something each.

nice, i know someone running that tire and they work pretty good.

Austin W

Went through your build, nice job, saw you brake your third in sluice last year. :ack:

Hyena

haha, that was nice huh?  nobody told me my tire was wedged under a rock lol.  were you the one yelling "It's just your shackle!" ?  just kidding.  I couldn't believe that.  shackles don't make that kinda noise.

Austin W

or it was " It's that double shackle extending", everybody just wanted to see you go further

Hyena

ya, i tried.  :(  i made it out the rest of the trail with it popping the whole way.  only had 2wd most of the time but i got out on my own power.

hey with the 40s you might want to get eather get the arp studs for your hub or add some more dowel pins i just sheered all my studs and both dowel pins off with out much effort earlyer today, im planning on doing the arp studs and adding 2 dowel pins to mine now also thinking about drive flanges
just a heads up, oh and this was only the 4th run with these tires

My hub studs lasted 5 runs with 38s.

I planned on getting the ARP studs and cromo hub gears before the mammers trip.  but i need to get my four link done too.  just waiting on my tax eturn so i can have some money to spend lol.  thanx for the heads up!  I have broken a few hub studs before with my 37's but i have been pretty lucky with them.  I have only broken one or two at a time, never all of them.

ya so my truck won't start after this last rain we had.  thought maybe my computer got wet.  I can't hear my fuel pump when i turn it on.  the motor turned over just fine untill the battery died.  it just seemed like it was getting no gas.  like i said i couldn't hear the fuel pump.  I pulled my gas tank out and wired the fuel pump up and it works.  i am not sure what is going on.  i have the fuel pump hooked to a a switch so it isn't in the ignition.  maybe the fuel pump isn't pumping out as much as it should?  maybe it is dieing so it isn't making s loud a noise as it should?  any help would be great.

I assume you checked the fuel pump relay in the fuse block under the hood. I am pretty sure that is where it is.

Hyena

i checked the fuses in the block.  i didn't check any relays  :(

Maybe its your mass air flow sensor. Try tapping the MAF with a screw driver handle and then see if it will start. If the MAF is messing up the fuel pump wont turn on.

yay, so i got the 2 teflon bushings that i need to finish my box in them ail today.  wierd because i haven't even paid for them yet lol.

Hyena

no, i haven't had time to drive the 30 minutes to work on it.  But i have started to work on the steering box again and it looks like i am about ready to chuck it out the indow.  the damn bushings still won't go in.  i used a hose clamp  about 20 times so far to try and make the bushing smaller like others have done but it doesn't seem to work for me.  i am seriuosly thinking about buying a built box already.

Hyena

well im done for the night.  another hour of working on it and still can't get the freakin' things in.  i am so pissed right now.  my box just won't go back together.

BFH? Torch? C'mon, you can do it! Dude your truck looks like a toy in your avatar picture. And it just seems right for it to be on the side. I'm ordering a gang load of parts today and hopefully a welder in 2 weeks. See you at the Hammers!

Hyena

ya it is.  and i also finally got my steering box back togther tonight.  This weekend i will install the box and hopefully the new fuel cell if i get it finished this week.

The cell is going to be 36x14x7 made out of 14 gauge stainless steel.  i am hoping to mount it in the front of the bed but recessed 5 inches down so it sits inbetween the frame rails just high enough the clear the links when i do the 4 link.

boggerunner

cool, im using a 15 gal stainless steel keg for my fuel cell, i just need some foam to keep it from sloshing, then its done, so how did u end up getting the box back together?

Shamb

those ends are some serious beef. looks like your doing it the smart way... ONCE!
