I like the flatbed  simple, bulletproof = simply bulletproof.  :_order: Just run it and don't look back.

hell ya.  i can do that after we get the tubing bender.  and your dad and i also have to finish the engine lol.  it's coming along though.

Hyena

so i just got a rear axle bigger and stronger then a Dana 60 today for FREE.  i guess it has a bad pinion bearing from what Jason told me.  but it was free.  wonder what i am going to do with it.  it is no 14 bolt, i will tell you tomarrow when i get pics of it.

Hyena

si i guess i will have to make a new flatbed since the one i was gonna buy bak just got sold on the truck.  so i can't buy that one anymore.

boggerunner

is your new rear axle a dana 70 or 80?

Hyena

it's a 70, i still have to take a shaft out and count the spline.

looks like plans are on hold right now.  i need to find a new place to store my truck and trailer, :pokinit: hit the fan between me and a friend who's house i am storing my truck at.  sucks cause now i have no welder or torche to use.

it's not kent, it is his roomate jacob.  i was hanging out with his ex g/f (whom i am good friends with) and he thought i was stabbing him in the back.  his life is full of drama and emotional dristress so he is taking it over the top.  he is pretty much blaming me for everything that has gone wrong in his life.  it's pretty funny but it sucks too.

Hyena

it's either a 70 or a 14 bolt.  i don't think i will keep it.  chris (truggy) might use it though.

Yota4life

That really sucks, time to buy a house haha. So whats up with the tube bender? Im not going to need it till im done with the flatbelly and i have tube ordered.

Hyena

haha, i don't have the time or the money to make it into a buggy.  gotta have it ready by April for the Hammers.  and i don't plan rush this build.

Yota4life

Ohh you got plenty of time. Im doing the same, i might take it to the snow once or twice but thats it. So are you doing the base of the bed square like our old one or are you going to tube the whole thing?

Hyena

i don't know ywt.  i will most likely build the 4 link and then build the flatbed after that.  i still don't know what springs/shocks to run with the links.  i am thinking abut cutting off the back of the frame and redoing it with tubing.  putting my gastank sideways under the flatbed, putting the black storage box overthe gas tank, putting the yellow one at the back of the flatbed so i can actually open it, and then putting my icechest over that with some camping gear.  i will not run a spare tire anymore.

Ramrod

well I know what the front is gonna look like and that idea is sitting out in the rain right now waiting for you to snatch it up

gotrocks

sweet Hyena I'm glad you decided to tube the back  I think you'll be pretty happy with it

Shamb

so how's mission 1-ton coming along?

you get a front/rear axle yet?  stuff for links? airshock/coilovers?

I don't run a spare.  If you get the right tires you most likely won't ever need it.

i have only popped one tire and that was at Prarie City on the flex ramp.  i have never had a problem wheelin trails.  and that spare tire isn't even mine.  it is James's, but he doesn't need it since he is in Iraq right now  :)

mission 1 tons is umm, ya.  i have a rear dana 70 or 14 bolt sitting in the back of my Ford right now.  got it for free with a bad pinion bearing From locktup.  i am not going to run it though.  thinking about giving it to truggy since he will need it more then i would with 42's and a 350/420/atlas.

I think i am going to run the Rubicon Express flex joints on the axle end of the links.  not sure if i want to run bushings or heims on the frame end.  locktup says to run bushing on the frame end.  i have heard of people going through bushing every other trip but he doesn't seem to have a problem with them.  the top links will most likely be 1.75"x.250 dom.  i want to get 2"x.250 for the bottom but have them bent so they stay out of the rocks.  i don't know anyone with a 2 inch die for a bender though.  i still haven't decided on spring/shocks yet.
