If you run the flat bed you are gonna need some sides on it to protect your stuff when you flop.(almost every trip)   :talkingn:

I vote for flat, just cause even with a dove tail, there is no way you would keep it straight when the rubber side is up.

thats true flatbed is more durable especially for you, but i just like the look of it how it is now.

Hyena

i planned to make a small cage for the flatbed if i put it on.  Some buddies and I are going in on a bender pretty soon so i guess i am going to start bending.

Hyena

the problem is that i will be 4 linking the rear soon.  and i would like to build a cage so i can mount the coil-overs (if i find some) to.  it would be a lot easier to build off the flatbed.  maybe i will keep the bed sides and make them removeable with the flatbed!

Hyena

also my front driveline isn't long enough after the flatbelly.  it fell apart 4 times on saturday.  :(

gotrocks

yes TRUGGY TIME!!  Do it man and don't look back.  I say make your besides removeable and tube out the back like the Ultimate Taco from a couple years back.  That by far is my favorite setup.  You can still have the bedside look but build the rear the rear the way you want it.   I'm getting another ex. cab here soon and thats what I hope to do someday is tube out the rear and make some removeable bedsides

If you count the bondo falling off it might have removable sides already.  :dunno:

hahaha well those are the bedsides I'd use later on down the road.  I figure that they are pretty sad right now and it won't bother me to use them.  Don't worry though bd you know I won't be abusing your truck like hyena does.  That boy doesn't know what a straight body panel was if it hit him on the head.

just messing with you brad

I didn't know hyena had ever mistreated my truck?  Maybe his dents started an epidemic?

the only straight body panels are the back of the cab and the front of the bed.  :)  i think i am going to be fixing the timing chain first off.  ot probably cut the front off, then fix the timing chain, then weld on the new tubing i will be getting from Pat.  then the rear links will begin later on.  the link tabs from Blue Torch look good for a good price.

gotrocks

ahh build your own.  (thats easy for me to say because I have a plasma torch that really speeds things up)

ya, i have a plasma at work that i could use.  but i am sick of putting all this time into this pile of :pokinit:.  i want to do it right but not spend all the time building the stuff.  i might deicide to do that to try and save money.  depends on where i am at at that point of the build.

gotrocks

well I know I get tired of building stuff sometimes and its easier to just buy it sometimes

Hmmm, ramrod front end, flat bed rear end. FrankenToy!
