Not cheaper then $350 :)  And after seeing snohman run out of propane at the hammers, i would rather stick to gas.

I officially own a 22re now.  The plan is to start taking my engine out friday and then either put the 22re in friday or saturday morning.  i guess we are going to use both wiring harness's.  the one that comes with the engine doesn't have headlight, tailight, ac, and maybe some other wiring so we will have to wire the two together.  Hopefully i can still get the dash out with the roll cage there.

Hyena

So today we got my old engine pulled out and the dash taken off.  The dash was the hardest part because ofthe roll cage in the way.  We got the EFI motor in and almost all the way bolted in.  Only have the top 2 tranny bolts to put on, power steering pump, and a couple other things.  Then we need to deal with the wiring which isn't going to be fun at all.  I won't have AC anymore since one of my ac lines broke or cracked or something.  I was moving around in the engineb ay with no engine it it and bumped the ac compressor and the line started shooting out freon/air.  So we will be taking that off, might put it back on later down the road if i get it fixed.  Probably won't be done this weekend since tomarrow is mothers day.

TEXXX

where were you on sat night i thought you were gonna party with us for Digity's birthday? you missed one hell of a drunk fest.
RIP Gatekeeper you will be missed!

Truggy

yeah the plan was to be up there but me nor brad ended up driving cause we were at another party without a truck so we were s.o.l.

Yep.

Got the engine running and driving today.  Took a toll though.  I have no AC, no heater, no tac, and there is a slight miss but i am going to get new plugs for it, fix the exhaust leak and do an oil change.  I did test drive it and wheeled a bit in chris's creek.  It works perfect at angles my other motor would have died at. here it is.  A big thanx to Chris for wiring it all together.

Duffil

Damn, that was quick.  looks pretty good, man!!

Truggy

Not a problem dude. But i must say that those lone red and white wires running along the back is brads custom wiring for the rock lights. we can fix the heater all we have to do is put the fan back in but its summer anyways. A/C broke a line while brad was grinding. And wiring a tach is easy stuff.

We ended up putting a 2wd extra cab tank in it because it had the electric fuel pump.  Chris had this 2wd frame and stuff sitting down on his property so it was luck he had a tank that fit.  It is the same length and width, it just looked shorter then my other one.  Does anyone know how many gallons it holds?  It had a couple holes in it from being pushed around by a tractor so chris washed it out and welded the holes up.  Leak tested it with more water.  We let it dry over night and then filled it with gas.  she started right up the first try.

your air cone is sitting right above the hot exhaust. your engine is sucking in preheated air...sweet!

some modifications here and there....

Hyena

It doesn't get that hot right there.  The heat shield stops most of the heat.  I got new plugs, new wires and did and oil change on it today.  I wonder if the gas has anything to do with the miss.  It seems to have more power then the other motor, but something is still not right.

Ramrod

I think it needs a supercharger and then it would run about right or more throttle

lilbuddy

OK well im pretty mad now. You even beat me to it and Ive had the EFI harness and everything ready to go in. Only thing is that I dont have any money to put it in! Its weak. I need a gas tank, some high pressure fuel lines and a fuel filter. Prolly some other misc crap too but its so close. It sucks, and I hate my carb.
RIP Kyota.... you are the man

GET IT!!!

Hyena

Ya, i wanted to get it done as quick as possible to be ready for memorial.  Chris had everything we needed at his house so it wasn't to hard.  My engine just didn't have the power anymore.  you guys saw me tear it upthat sand hill at the Hammers.  i thought i was gonna go backwards when i had to shift down.  I just hope i can get it running right for memorial.

Hyena

So i guess it was just bad gas becuase i drained the gas and put new stuff in and it runs better.  But my rock lights blew both fuses for front and rear, it may have a short.  And some thing happened to my tranfercase this weekend.  I was doing about 50mph in 4hi and it popped out of 4hi into 2wd.  I slammed it back into gear because i didn't want to stop.  I cept on going untill i saw Pat and slammed on my brakes.  talked to him a bit.  I then tried to go forward and had nothing.  Like it was in neutral.  The rear case shifter was stuck in something, maybe neutral.  I couldn't move it at all.  I took the shifter out and found a perfectly good piece of bark sitting inbetween the shift rails.  I was thinking that was a little strang but i took that out and it still wouldn't shift.  So then i pried one of the shift rails foward so it would go into 4hi.  It didn't have anything for a second and then it caught i guess.  Because then i had power.  It was making a funny noise after that.  I didn't really get to drive it after that since we woke up to a blizzard today and ended up going home.

Ramrod

i think you forgot the part where you didn't have the transmission in gear and were wondering why it wouldn't go :haha:

Hyena

Ya right, i moved those shifters in all directions trying to get a gear.

Hyena

So i ordered a Pacesetter Header last week and installed it today.  Went from the Header to the Muffler with 2 1/4 tubing and left out the cat.  It sounds sooo much better and gave it a bit of power also.  the only thing that bugs me is the paint on the header burned off and left a crappy finish.  But i am pleased.  I took it for a run through Chris's Creek and bent in the drivers side of my bed again and broke the tailight.  i have pics and a video but don't have time to post them right now.
