We went up Saturday early morning and setup camp at Loon.  Then we went in for the day to Spider.  Came back out before dark.  Then went back in and played around at Gatekeeper.  Came back to camp and slept then went back in the next morning but didn't even go all the way to Soup Bowl before we turned around and headed back out.  I think thats when I saw you by the spill way.

Broke another nuckle stud this weekend :(  I am getting mad now.  Fawkers are tight and they still break.  That is 2 studs in 3 trips.

Im better at welding sheet metal now, lets just drop it.

I haven't arc welded in over 3 months and those were my first beads since then.  I think they turned out nice, got good penetration too.

If its a good weld then it will never break, you should rip the bumper off first. I took a couple weld classes in college and we did some destructive testing on some welds. Cool :pokinit: right there. The welded joint actually becomes stronger than the material that gets joined. Some fun watching my pretty welds get streched out until the plate goes POP!

Pictures of the new rims.  Only took 4 weeks for them to get to me because they were on backorder.  15x8 with a 2 1/2 inch bs.  Flush valve stems.

Just ordered $80 worth of parts from Marlin crawler online. Bought 10 steering arm studs with the new E12 socket head and socket, 4 washers and cones, 8 nuts, and a hat.  So when i get those in i can fix my broken steering arm studs.

Ya, the front suspension is great.  The rear chevies flex great too but they are rock anchors.   always seem to get hung up on the front mounts unser the frame.  I think it may be 4 link time.

Why did it take so long to get those rims.  I got mine in two days from fourwheel parts.  maybe it was the custom purple stripe.

Put my new marlin steering arm studs in today.  I had one steering arm stud broken inside the nuckle so i had to weld a small piece of metal to it and twist it out.  It was down inside there about 3/8 of an inch so i had to not weld it to the side.  Got it out and cleaned the threads.  Then i put in the new studs with some red loctite so they don't come loose.  The studs look awsome with the new nuts too.  These studs are sooo much easier to install and take out with the E12 head on them.  No more double nutting the steering arm stud to tighten it or take it off.  My truck is ready for the next wheeling trip!

this weekend was rough.  i know i broke either a passenger side birf or axle shaft.  The drives side birf is popping badly too.  other then that it wasn't too bad.  don'y know what i am going to do to fix it.  I guess the welded front end is a little too hard for even the treated birfields.

I don't know how that was talent.  I wasn't even doing anything hard.  The last thing i did before it started popping was Soupbowl.  The inner axle seal is shot to :pokinit:.  I guess it wasn't a good idea to leave the broken birf in there and still drive out of the trail.  I can't get the seal out, the mounting surface is smashed/scuffed from the bif movong around so much.

Ouch, is that going to require a new housing? Time to upgrade to chromo longs! No more broken birfs being an issue.

The housing is a little chewed up but it will work.  I would love to get the new cromo longs but money is a tight factor right now.  I won't have a job starting next week because of college.  So i won't be having any money coming in.  Plus i have a truck payment due every month.  If i get the Longs then i will only have about $100 left over, kinda tight for not having job.  Don't know if i can make it.

Hopefully they are still available, that would fit your budget better than some brand new ones. You gunna make it to the round up if you can get it fixed?
