 looking good Hyena.  How are those pipe fenders coming??

Why'd you go this way, as opposed to building someting on the bedrails, so that you would have more bedspace??

I like my bedspace, it is just right.  I wanted something on the front fenders to help slide along things, not just bash straight through the fender and get me stuck.  I am going over to my friends house today to start bending the pipe for sure.  I made some shackles today out of some 2 1/2x3/8xabout 11 inches long.  The eye to eye is right around 10 inches.  My old shackles were 6 inches eye to eye.  It lifted the rear about 2 inches.  I am going to move the shackle mount forward for a better shackle angle.  I also made a nut for the tire carrier and clamp the tire on the carrier, pics to come!

Hyena

Guess i am ditching the front fender piping.  They turned out like :pokinit:.  I even packed them with sand and they still kinkded like crazy.

Might be getting some used 37 inch MTR's for cheap!  might even have rims too.

TEXXX

where are ya getting those??
RIP Gatekeeper you will be missed!

Hyena

Scott Runnels' old tires.  Scott is gonna try and get ahold of Jessie Duarte (who has them now, i hope)  for me.  Jessie is running his 38's and has the 37's just sitting around.  Or at least i hope he does, thats what i have heard.

TEXXX

LUCKY.... i want 37's cheap!

So today i got my shackle mounted 2 inches forward of stock and kept the double shackle.  the shackle angle is way better.  I also started on my 1/4 inch thick rear trail driveline.  And almost got my spare tire carrier done.  Will finish them tomarrow.  Pics will come tomarrow.

sloyota

where's the foto's? :beerchug:  :driving:
I'm not responsable for my own action's.

Hyena

Sorry, wasn't home after school today.  hopefully i can remember them tomarrow.  I got the driveline done.  It starts vibrating badly at about 30mph but it is only a trail driveline so it doesn't matter.  we are leaving Thursday night at about 8 or 9 pm for the rubicon.  Doing a little night wheeling up there to Spider.  Both James and I pulled the windows out of our extra cab portion so they don't break if we were to flop-roll.  We still have the windshields in and i still have my rear window in.

i really want to see this trail driveline of yours because i read about it in another thread when someone else was talking about building it and it sounds like a good idea.

Hyena

I will post pictures of it.  I think i pretty much landed on it many times over the weekend.  My other driveline would have prezeld over and over.

Hyena

Here are the pics of the driveline.  You can see the marks/scares in it.

The camera is still fugged up and it is gonna take $300 to fix it.  Don't think thats gonna happen.  I arc welded it, not bad welds i guess.  I hadn't arc welded for a couple months before i did this.  All we did was cut the old tube off and weld the new one on.  The new one is 1/4 inch thick, it is like 2 1/4 or something like that ID (inner diameter).  I think it is Pipe, but not sure.  It sure held up good on the trail.

TEXXX

looks good brad ya gotta help me build one!
