How did you move your front end 1 1/4 in forward? Did you re-drill the spring perches in the front?

Yep!  easy as pie,  took a little less then an hour with 2 people.  easy when you have a forklift, air tools and a plasma cutter  :)

thanks that helps me out alot now i know i need to drill them out. One more thing is your steering arms going to hit because you moved the axle that much more forward?

Another thing that helps is when you have no bushings in your spring eyes, once you get the u-bolts undone and the weight of the truck off the springs you can just push them out of the way to drill the perch. :gap:

I need to read a manual to lock them? lol  So I found these neat autolocking hubs and installed them. Sometimes they dont stay locked while I am backing up, but that's fine because I dont have a backup camera to see where Im going (like our RV) so I just simply dont ever back up"- BigMike

So what'd you break on the jambo?  It wouldn't be a wheeling trip without breaking something.  You and I have the same luck I think.

"I" didn't break anything on my truck.  Brittany tried taking my truck up Backdoor saturday night.  She gave it hell with the pedal to the floor.  ended up shearing a front spring center pin.  leafs went flying out of it.  found the bottom leaf about 50 feet back down the trail some how.  the only spare center pin i had was only long enough to put 4 leafs back in.  and then the u-bolts wouldn't get tight enough for just 4 leaves.  so i had to ratchet strap the springs to the axle.  limped it back to camp with the gangster lean.  i haven't fixed it yet.  did bend a lower link slightly on one of the trails.

Haha thats funny.  Just flip the link around.  I did the same thing and just flipped it around, that way when it hits again it will help straighten it back.

Brad i gotta pick you brain for a second. Do you steering arms touch at all when flexed to the passenger side. Im worried that the two arms are going to hit each other when im flexed all the way passenger. Could you show me a couple pics of your steering box and how you mounted it as well. Thanks it really appreciated.

my pitman arm from the box does contact the tie rod after i redrilled the spring perches and oved the axle forward 1 1/4 inches.  i need to do something about that.  my steering arms don't hgit anything.  and the frame is plated where the box is front and back.  i tilted it as far as i could to move the pitman arm up higher.

i have been tryingto kill this pos motor and i have not had any luck in doing that.  it runs good for just crawling.  but when i try to go fast it cuts out like no other.  i think the injectors maybe clogged or something.  it ran better after i rolled it and hydrolocked the motor here.

and i did finally hit the roof!
