We have a long ass extension cord, but the end of it is wrong, i need to get a dryer plug for it.  it should only cost like $10 max.  Home Depot doesn't have that end, they have a whole new dryer replacement cord.  I will try Osh or Lowes tomarrow.

Okay never mind, you already got the cord. I got my plug from Osh.

I told ya, it worked for me!  :)

And Dain (inmyownsummerami) and I got the bender mount tonight.  took a couple hours or drilling the concrete, had to go sharpen the bit once with the grinder.  i need to go to to the hardware store tomarrow (other then the Home Depot since they suck) and get a connection for the 220 extension cord for the welder.

I think I hate putting anchors in concrete even more than I hate pouring it . Ehh maybe not, when I was pouring concrete I had to carry it up a ladder 2 5gal. buckets at a time. :shake_head:

Brad just remember the longer you make your extension cord, the more draw it puts on the welder so I wouldnt make a 100' cord if if you only need 25'  :twocents:

Hyena

haha, i am not making a 100 foot cord you nummy.  i might just tak all the tubing together and then bring it to work to weld up fully.  all we have at the house is flux anyways, i would rather run it with gas.

but it looks like i won't get much done today since my sister is at the hospital right now having a baby.  im going to be an uncle!  i gotta go.

der I know :ha_ha: twas a figure of speech.   make it as short as possible

we made a 50 ft extension for ours (which is what we needed) and it worked great. Never got warm or anything. Also made an adaptor with (2) 110 volt extensions and a dryer plug that plugs into 2 regular sockets on different breakers

mines 25' iirc made of 8/3 SO cord. never a problem either

Hyena

ours is about 50 feet.  seemed to work pretty good today.  got a little done.  don't be surprised if i have it up for sale or part it out here soon.

You can see just how much my cab is smashed over to the drivers side.  the hoop doesn't line up with the cab very well at all.
the rear sits about 8 inches to high becasue i haven't adjusted the shocks yet and there is no weight back there right now.

KYOTA

ooh ! how about a close up of the upper link mount, I got the same one and wanna see what you did with yours

how about just a new cab? the rest of the truck works great, no?

Hyena

thats a lot of work, i would rather build a buggy, then i won't have to worry about sheetmetal again.

but this truck should work better now.  the rear end should have a lot less center of gravity since i am moving the tank, storage box, and icechest down. that was a problem before since i had so much weight too high it caused a lot of body roll, which led to me flopping it a lot.

didn't get much done today either.  after i went over to a buddies house to help lift off a cab i went back home.  nobody was there so i didn't have anybody to help me bend the other main hoop i am doing.  i did get the back part bent up and it turned out good.  Decided to get the truck to ride height so i let out a little pressure in the shocks.  they are gonna have to be refilled with nitrogen but that aint a big deal.  i can check clearances a lot better now.  glad i did becasue i am about to mount the icechest way to low.  here it is as it sits now.

haha, i thought you were working on your truck.  Bryan came over for a bit and helped me bend that rear part up before he had to go.  he gave me some good ideas on it.

Yota4life

Thats cool, why didnt you just take the shocks off and use jack stands and blocks to hold it up? Looks like that welder is working.

the cool thing about that rear section is you could use it for mounting a fuel cell if you ever wanted to go in that direction.

looking good dude!

when you get this back together let me know, i'd like to go hit up the Con or Barrett.

I have a fuel cell that i made out of stainless steel that i was running before.  it is going back in it.

Hyena

Dain came over earlier and we bent up that back hoop.  turned out pretty damn good.
