both of them cracked in the same spot.  Bobby is sending me 2 new ones.  these were the ones with the 4340 inner star.  they were a year and a half old.  the new ones have the 300m stars.

Hyena

and they started clicking with my 37's.  my 40s have only been on for 2 trips.  so they broke with the 37's!

Matty

so the clicking in the frontend was infact the longs?

Hyena

toy4x4ota

what are you doing with that cool slider tool box that was on your truck  before the links?  if you were not using it i would be willing to take off your hands for the right price.
Liqour in the front   Poker in the rear

Hyena

I planned on keeping it for when/if i cage the rear.  I am not sure now though.

RHG

Damn, thats some flex! Whats the limiting factor in the rear right now? Are the tires still rubbing? I bet if you had links in the front to you would be able to get the axle straight up and down. Nice. Sooooo who wants to start a poll on how long it will take brad to flop it with the new links?

brad just stop messing around and get a 60.  I broke my r/p right after I put my longs in as well.   A toyota front end is only so strong and I think that you're deffinatly getting to the limits of the strength.

i agree

Hyena

i am really thinking about it.  but it will have to wait till after the hammers.

gotrocks

Ok then no excuses for the roundup.  Also its time to link the front when you do it.

I vote yota axles. no 60's.  I love fullwidths but I don't see a need for strength  unless you are gonna run the $3K upgraded axleshafts etc....

I love this rig. keep it up man.
I'm going yota JUST so I can buy from Marlin more.

but did you miss the whole part where i keep breaking toyot stuff?

53 1/2 inches to the bottom of that rear tire.  all other tires on the ground.  I tried pushing my truck over and i couldn't even budge it.  very very stable.

I dont know any upgraded 60 shaft thats $3k, you can get 35 spline outers, u jointers and warn premium 35 spline hubs for $475

Hyena

ya, i can get the 60 longfields for $1800 and then 35 spline hubs for not much more.  maybe $3000 altogether with the housing.  but i have abou that much into my toy axle for sure.  the 60 would be 80 billion times stronger.

Hyena

I just added it up, i have a little over $3000 into my axles.  and pretty much every part is less then 6 months old!  Everything but the highsteer, front wheel spacers, rear axleshafts and both housings.  Wonder if i can get at least $2500 for them  :(

RHG

Its crazy how much we dump in these trucks. I started adding up roughly what I have into my truck. Ouch. Lots of dinero. But :pokinit: can a toy axle ever be "unbreakable" even after heat treating this and that and upgrading everything?

I was just saying 3k b/c I knew the longs were high.
I guess if you are breaking cromo stuff you might need to go to Fullwidths.  I would vote for the Fj80 axles but at this point it'd be easier to do 60's.

of course I never wheel so my toyota stuff does just fine.  :rivers:
