Sure you can lower it 4" really easily.  Thanswer is sitting on the garage floor as I type Id imagine.  You are building a new frame.  That will require new spring mounts and shackle mounts.  Put the shackles through the frame instead of under the frame, thats good for an easy 2" in itself.  Dropping the solid mounts is a rather simple affair since you'll be building new ones anyway.

Ive dont the skyhigh rig thing before.  My old 84 had enough lift to clear 39.5 tsl's.  The only part of the body that wasnt higher than the tires was the rockers!  It looked really cool but I layed it over 4 times. :smack:  Low and stable is an artform.

2 high may look cool as WT said but it can cause a lot of handeling issues jus my  :twocents:

I'll look at taking out a leaf in the front and putting it in the rear. Maybe this will level it without droping it much. The drive line angles wil get better after the T18 swap and I need the clearance so I don't smash the oil pan with the diff. Also there arn't any rocks anywhere close to us on this sand bar. Besides there might be 42's in the future.

I am asuming you want to spring for these too? We haven't even used the 38's yet. 34's are ok, 36's are better, 38 are grand, 42's man that's stylin and they say more than a mouth full is a waste.  :ha_ha:

Ok guys and girls, I removed one leaf from the front springs and whala it is level with out lifting the rear.   :shake_head: Now I see Marlin does not make a right and left spring so I need to block up the left side so it will stop leaning.  :hammerhead:

Do yourself a favor and put another leaf in place of the arched leaf that was origionally in those packs.  If you dont you will make the front springs into W's ans have issues with the front axle wanting to "toggle" over when you are on the brakes hard and you'll have axle wrap.  Ask me how I know. :smack:

Wrong time to move to Cali if you were ever thinking of it. House prices are too high.

Yup you need something in there to help control the movement.  The way I describe it is you removed a lift spring.  You need to add a support spring.  If you have access to stock yota rear or nissan rears (as Id imagine you do) Id use either a cut down main leaf or a cut down secondary for the support.

Is that leaning left to right or front to back..?

Left to right is normal..the left side is 2 inches taller to compensate for the drivers weight..

:nope:  :nope: The driver side is low because the spring pad is about 3/4" shorter than the pass side. Therefore the stock springs have more arch to the driver side spring. There should be a spacer block included withe the springs or make sure one has more arch like stock springs.

Hey Vino, just checked out your project. Looks like its coming along too! :yesnod:
Yeah, the Mammoth was the  :flamer: build that wasn't going to become a project  :shake: But no surpise that it we have gotten this far into it, either.  :talkingn:
It's great that we are actually at a place in our lives with no other pending projects and the  :twocents:  :twocents: (not that there is ever enough) to be able to do it up right.  :hyper: Now that he has the frame in there it should start going pretty fast  :crossed: Hell, we've only be at it since Nov. 18, that's less then three months now. What's another month? The weather will be perfect by then.   :driving:

He's got the body back on the frame, a rear bumper on it, and is getting ready to bend the underside of the rollcage. I've got to finish up what I'm putzing around with so I can help him with the bending :whip:

:yesnod: Yup that's rite, the frame is done and the body is back on.  I bent up the tubes for connecting the cage to the frame. I also made up one cage stand and welded it in place. The stearing idler is welded in place and the stearing box is next. There is still work to be done on the bumpers. I raised the enging and trans 1", :psss:  now the tunnel needs to be raised so it does not hit.

We should be ready to lift the body this next weekend and finish weld everything.  :beerchug: The body will get primer and the frame painted. Then it is on to the final assembley

Yup you just flipped it so it points backwards to fit your body.  I did the same thing when I put a xj body on a nissan frame.
