The box got deeper then the original design, it now lines with the end of the jerry cans
so it gives "fuel support"

Here is the latest pictures. I still need to make the lid and dividers. Then I can mount it and install the seats.

You can see how the jerry cans will sit on the sides that are the same hight as the fender wells.

Very cool, I heard there is another guy forging his own leaf springs, you gotta match that now.

I'll do one better, I am going to go 4 link after our vacation. I don't have time to take on a project like that before.

Not sure yet if it will be coil spring or air bags, I need to do more research.

Also thinking about Volvo portals, But that is a ways off.

4 links are easy really, you planning on front and rear? If you really wanted to be trick you could do something like the air bag kits for TJ's that have a computer and sensors on the links making it possible to keep the body of the TJ level over any grade. Look up 4-mogger on pirate, thats what I am talking about. Although you have probly already seen that one.

Or you know, you can do both. There is a company (thinking King) that has air bag kits for coil-overs.

Yeah but can he do it in the field with only a Buck Knife and a rock, that's a true McGyver. He's definatly a shop wizard though. :gap:

Just wait till you get him out in the field, RS. You don't actually think he needs his tools around to be creative now do you?

Oh I don't doubt that he could take the handle of a highlift and make an axle out of it in the field (we have), but they are calling his shop wizardry a Mc Gyver like operation when he has all the tools, all I'm saying is what he does in the shop is not. What I'd call him in the shop is a Mad Scientist.

Hey did I read that you were gonna goto a 4 link suspension?  Will you have the clearance for the tires in the wheel wells to accomodate the extra flex,  it seemed like you were about rubbin with it flexed out already.   Or are you gonna get differant axles, or wheel spacers?
Life is too short!!!   Do something with it!!!

Willy Mammoth

I have added 1 1/4" spacers since that picture was taken.

It isn't so much how far the tires will stuff as it is how much they will drop.

OK yeah, that I can agree with. What he does in the shop is just creative engineering.

:nope: What will dimish her fine curves is smashing it to bits on the rocks! The exo is going to be removable, not a permenant attachment.
And it's getting a stinger
There'll be pics in a bit.
