Why weren't the 2wd 4runners called 2runners?

i was kinda bein a smart :moon: but basically i paid all my bills at the beginning of the month now im broke till next friday, then all i need is a ubolt flip kit to hang my front housing, then assemble the axle, then shock mounts, then brakes then whatever, ijust hope i can finish before you THK because i started 3 weeks ago and already had most of my parts. My first goal was to finish before Blackdog but hes probably got his up at the roundup right now.

Oh nice!
that should give you a decent stance... i can get ahold of a few taco rears.... so I'd like to see what yours looks like under it before i grab a toyota rear axle to swap under it.

Yeah Cody im glad I did too. My buddy callen called me gay for sellig it and then the next day at work i came up with the idea to build it on yta axles for now... Kinda stoked. Ill be able to wheel it and take it to the con onece it comes out of my garage which is SICK. Itll be dualed up and all armored and decently built.

Not going to weld. Im going to let my brother take my Audi and ill be DD'ing the 4runner probably. Half the reason I am getting MT/R's

Im stoked to see what it will look Like. I will have 2" wheels with the taco rear. Judging by how wide my Tacoma was with that setup, my runner should look wider since the body i htink is narrower.

Not going to match.. Just goin to run it. May do the IFS hub thing later on but for now, whatever.

Got the clutch pedals in, frame ground down (except the bottom), frame plates welded on for steering box, and steering box moved forward. Also got my white face gauge cluster installed.

Got a bunch of pics. The clutch pedal swap was wayyy easy. Took maybe half an hr.

Got soooooooooo much done today....

Got the motor tranny and duals in and the area below the runner all cleaned up. Its kind of a mess now but whatever...

TOmorrow im going to try and start it and get it running. ALso cut the holes for the transfercase shifters and then clearance the heater hoses for the rear heat. When thats Alll said and done I may even tear into the rear end. Im almost thinkign about waiting till next week to do all that just so i can get the front end completely done and call it good. Ill probably drill out/cut out the holes for the shackle tubes in the front end. I dont know, well see. Still got a bunch to do. Gotta definitely wire in my stereo and speakers along with the sub wires and stuff. Thats a NEED for sure

Yea another build... get over it. Im not letting anyone drive this one so hopefully i wont have to get rid of it! i wasnt going to make a build thread since this is my 6th, but whatever.

ANyway its a 1990 runner
22re
auto
2wd
fully loaded and in good condition

picked it up for $500 on July 1, 09

going to be on toyota axles for now, hysteer, 1.5 spacers, 4.10s, welded, tacoma rear, 4.10s, welded, dual cases with 4.7s, sky crossmember, homebuilt sliders and bumpers, 37" MT/R's on 2" backspace wheels

Goal is to have it done with leaf rears, sas front, duals and 5spd by Sept 26th and wheel the on Oct 3... Im thinking I will have it done easily by the 19th, ive already got a lot done. I could easily have it done this weekend but im just taking it slower than i normally would

within the next year it will be on tons and 42s but i just want to wheel and build the tons over time

Got everything figured out. IT was super easy. I needed to run the auto harness not the manual. Once I swapped it, it started RIGHT up.

Pics from friday, yesterday and today...

Friday I did a lot of grinding.... it sucked.

Saturday I Got the clutch pedals in, frame ground down (except the bottom), frame plates welded on for steering box, and steering box moved forward. Also got my white face gauge cluster installed. Also got the motor tranny and duals in and the area below the runner all cleaned up.

Today I got the box mounted up, buttoned up the tcases and crossmember, figured out some clearance issues with stuff, got a few holes cut for the tranny and the front case, got the wiring harness from the auto back in, got a new throttle body on, figured out the neutral safety wire, and a bunch of other stuff. Most importantly I got the motor running and it runs great! only got one code and its the o2 sensor not being plugged in. No biggie....

RIP Kyota.... you are the man

GET IT!!!
