I decided the top front part of the stand that the actual bender bolts to might be too weak. I didn't even think to look at the JD2 stand before I built mine. There looks about a half in h thick where the bender mounts. So I added a couple braces underneath that part. They're cool lookin. One is brass knuckles and the other is a Toyota symbol i'll throw up a pic when I get home :D

Got my bender mounted in my shop! and bent some practice tube last weekend  :gap: Space is limited in my garage cause me and my GF park inside. So i made my bender stand easily movable. The green part which is 3"x3"x.1/4" tube slides over a 2.5"x2.5"x1/4" tube that is welded to the plate that is bolted to the floor. My first attempt at a 90* angle was only a couple degrees over. I was pretty happy with how easy the process is.    (i'll take a couple pics of how it is mounted after work)

Did those pics help you out? I built my truck bed cage around my tool box and I new I wanted a spare tire mounted along with my two propane tanks, from there I built the cage and seat bar. I started by building the halo and the I tied everything together. I went exo around the front of the cab and where the cab is out of my line of sight I went thru the cab to keep me from getting hung up. I'm working on rebuilding the fron now. It's going to be similar to an F toy front end, I haven't drawn it up or anything but I have it all worked out in my head. I'm going to run some kind of fender and hood but it's going to be dove in up to the radiator.

Right on man. Ya the pics help fo sho. I just been lookin around everywhere at all the cages i can find to get an idea of what i wanna do. Pretty much just gonna be the basic cab cage. Start off the sliders over the B pillars just behind the doors. Another hoop from the front of the sliders over the cowl. Then some tubes over the top of the doors from the b pillar hoop to the cowl hoop. And a brace across the top of the windshield. And supports thrown in wherever i can. Im really hopin I can get this thing nice and tight!

EDIT: the bed and fenders wont have any protection until I visualize somethin cool.

here is a picture of the post bolted to the floor. Its short enough to drive over but still holds the bender very well.

I picked up a digital angle meter from HF my second and third bends were 89.3* and 89.9* I also made a small hoop for :pokinit: s and giggles. Helped me visualize more of how this is all gonna come together.

I started the B pillar hoop tonight I goofed up a bit on my first top two bends. But it wasn't so bad that I couldn't work with it. I'll probly finish it up tomorrow night and start the hoop that goes from the front of the sliders over the cowl. So far Ive been able to keep it pretty tight against the cab no more then about a 1/2" gap all around

Bent a couple more tubes today after work. They go from the b pillar hoop aroundthe doors and to the sliders. They will go behind the front fenders like a partial exo. Tomorrow I should have most of the cage done. :crossed:

Got a good portion of the cage done this weekend. I still need to add some triangulation, but this was a good stopping point.

Cool, I'm glad to see you finally put that tube bender to use. I can't wait to see the finalized product.

Thanks again guys! I can't wait to finish this thing. Really wanna try and get it done for Browns camp this weekend. Still need to put a tube across the bottom of the windshield. A triangle shape on the roof and a cross bar on the b pillar hoop. Also want to tie the cage into the front bumper going behind the front fenders.
