I cant wait to get the hydro assist done. Id be done but im tryin to figure out how to mount the ram without having to do the T100 oil pan swap because of my 3 litre the oil pan does not leave much room for the ram.

Ima just stick with the TG 5" springs they work good and my axle is plenty far forward now.
I will probly end up takin out a leaf in each front spring when my bumpstops finally show up.

Na not lazy, i had to move my steering box and axle forward before i figure out were to mount the ram. Now thats done i can figure out where the ram will go.
The problem with the 3.0 oil pan is that the oil sump is in the front, right were the hydro hoses and fittings would be. The 2wd T100 oil pan swap puts the oil sump towards the rear of the motor.
But I think im just gonna mount the ram under the tie rod and build a skid/protection for the ram.

even with a 5 inch lift it will hit the oil pan??

Yep, the springs are losing there strength and im takin a leaf out so its not exactly a 5" lift any more.

Here is a pic of how close the ram and fittings are to the oil pan if i mount it on top of the axle

Ya thats not my ram just a pic i found of the same set up. So Im 99.99% sure ill be mounting the ram on the front of the axle like a full hydro setup.

I have these two t-cases- One is a forward shift with a nice clean unbroken case... and the other is a top shift with JB weld on the case and a broken bolt hole mount on the bottom. Looks like the driveline came off and smacked the side of the top shift case.

The good top shift case im building out of these cases will be my front reduction case. I all ready have the rear t-case all set up with 4.7s and twin stick.

Question: Do i just swap both top shift rails and shift forks into the forward shift t-case.

I think ima just go for it! Tear the cases down throw in my 23 spline input and hope the top shift rails fit in the forward shift case. I'll let ya'll know how it goes. Also yesterday I dropped off my spare rear driveline and ifs CV at Driveline tech to have Brian make me a thickwall CV DL for when i get my duals ready. That way I wont have to wait for my driveline after i get my duals in.

And I know I been slackin on the hydro assist. but this weekend my GF is goin to Vegas so Ima get my Ram mounted, make my res. bigger, and install the inline cooler. Then when I get my steering box rebuild kit Ill just pull out the box drill and tap it throw it back together and be ready to go. When i drill and tap the box im also gonna bore out the restrictor on the pump.

I was wonderin about only putting in the hi/low range shift rail. And welding a piece of metal on the outside of the lil forks that the shifter moves. To hold the tip of the shifter right in place all the time. I figure the 2wd/4wd shift rail would just be extra parts. In the front case.
What do ya think?

Finally got around to makin a mount fore my Ram. I'm makin it out of some square tube for simplicity.

I had to cut one of the mounts off the ram and rotate it, so i could get the hose fittings to come out in the right spot.

The ram is mounted in the opposite direction than most peoples but it had to be that way to keep it tucked up by the axle.

Why not mount the body side of the ram to the top of the axle truss super low and the shaft side on the back of the tierod?

Looks like it will work really good how it is with no bindage or anything though.

I just came across this. This is what my buddy figured out for my rig and its a 3.0 as well. I bought brackets from Datin Fab and the bracket that goes on top of the axle was slightly modded to fit more forward.. It is somewhat of a tight fit but we flexed it with a cherry picker and we didnt notice any rubbing or anything..


Your setup looks good too probably more clearance but I guess this could be good for future reference who looks at your thread  :thumbs:

I have the 3.0 and the oil pan leaves no room to put the ram where all the 4cyl. guys put theres. if I mounted it there i would have about a half inch of up travel till the ram hits the oil pan.

Im gonna bend a round tube hoop to protect the ram from rocks and what not

EDIT: Also with the ram flipped like I have it the hoses are almost totally off to the side of the oil pan.

got my crawl box done last night. Still waitin for my drivelines from Driveline Tech.
This weekend Im gonna try to get the hydro assist finished up. I got my power steering box rebuild kit so All i gotta do now is pull the box drill/tap it. Then hook up the lines and bleed everything.
The whole system should hold about three quarts of PS fluid. Im hopin i dont have to mod. my res. but we'll see how the pump sounds when its all done.
