If its so old how about telling me what it supposed to be other than some movie prop.  :dunno:

Oddmar

Yah, it's a movie prop for the 1978 movie "Damnnation Alley"...but Jeffries (the builder) drove it off a 30' drop at 50mph and it took it no problem...the whole front is 3/4" plate...so i think it'll handle pretty much anything. It's amphibious too.

I spoke with Jeffries back in 92-93 and he wanted $150k for it...more than i had at the time. That vehicle and the APC from the movie "Aliens" are my favorite movie vehicles.

You guys were putting up pics of neat 6x6's so i figgered i'd trump ya.

Good crap, if its a crack of any length dont weld it, that compressed air can be so dangerous if it blows!!  I rember my hydraulics teacher did a safty demo and sent the tank into the wall with enough force to scare the crap out of me!!

you just gotta know what your doing.....so, dont underweld it...... and number two stick it out in a feild and pressurise it to like 150 PSI and shoot frozen paintballs at it..... if it takes it...then just dont run it above 115 PSI and call it good......ok, so maybe frozen paintballs isnt the best stress test but its 2:30 am in my internal clock, so yeah....that
Sand, what fun, drop pressure to 12psi, stock tires are still digging, can't afford to get stuck, 8psi, still not working. Find a place to GET OUT, air up, un-lock hubs,  WAIT whats this, hubs are UN-LOCKED already. 2wd, 8psi, stock tires, Oregon sand dunes.

i agree it's fixable   but i would mig it

or barrow a plasma wrench off of scotty   he always got  the warp engines fix   no mater how many phaser shots they took

Yes but the ends are welded in ideal (new steel)  when theirs a crack thats usually indicative of stress, weaking, wear, possibly thinning of the metal.   If it was a puncture it woulnt be as big of a deal.

Ditto a high pressure test would be perfect and then just never run it that high again.
