86 was the first year for the vented rotors, so yea they're stock.  You can't use em either, which kinda sucks cause I always seem to have some of them laying around, but never any fj40 rotors.

so i guess the fj40 rotors have a deeper dish to them :dunno:

the fj40/60 rotors should have the same dish as the IFS rotors.  To use the IFS hubs, Sky manufacturing makes a spacer for the rotor.  Or I've seen people mount the ifs calipers to the outside of the knuckles, and use a nut and bolt after drilling out the threads on the knuckle.

$100 for wheel spacers or $200 for rotor spacers?   I'm sticking with wheel spacers.  Simplest it the fj rotors on solid axle hubs, ifs calipers and wheel spacers.

i say IFS hubs.   why ?  because  the hubs are designed to support the bearings in such a manner.  where as the solid axle hubs are not.   spacers + SA hub = more stress on bearings.

dude here ran 42" tsls on 2" bs wheels with IFS hubs.. never had a problem with bearings.

42s yes, but for glen's 32s :dunno: can't see it being a real problem.

Not sure I totally agree with that.  Your mounting surface on a ifs hub is the same as a solid hub with 1.5" wheel spacer.   The offset to the bearings should be identical.  I see no problems running spacers on a dd, if that's you concern.  Seen about 10 wheels come off from hard impacts/loose lug nuts.  Never seen a spacer come apart.
