Dingman.

Sooo went wheeling today..  Well attempted to...  Way tooo many stuck people so ended the trip early.

Anyways had to tow a buddy home cause he possible toasted his cases.  Truck would not move, making noise earlier, etc..

Got him home and he spots that my front diff is pouring oil out.   Soo it appears a damn ring gear bolt backed out and punched multiple holes in my front housing.

So at this point im looking for a new front 85' housing, possibly gears, setup kit, and hopefully there is no damage to my arb nor my high pinion housing..

Shitty trip.

man if I were you Id giveup on toy axles!
I have never heard of anyone with as much bad luck as you!
on diffs anyway, you Fn kill them, seriously!!

ill keep an eye out for ya.
you poor ba$tard, lol

Dingman.

I honestly think ive only broken a set of gears by themself.  The rest of them have been because of stupid bull crap reasons; locker breaking, ring gear bolts backing out (two diffs cause of this, and stupid welded ones breaking.

I blame myself for buying used diffs.  The rear one im driving on right now, that my boss showed me how to setup is done correctly, and its been the only diff that i have run except for a stock 4.10 that has been quiet.  Which means all the other used ones i purchased were improperly installed.

ya i am! part out what you got and do something else

you are to diffs as thomas is to cases.....

I am not going ton's.. Not anytime soon either.

This came down to not being setup correctly (once again). Nothing to do with my driving style.  Ring gear bolts dont back out for using the skinny pedal.

I will buy new :pokinit: and setup myself and not worry about it again

Thomas P

btw thanks for the tow mike!! we were gonna call jasonC and have him tow us on the trailer but you just never stopped.....

and if you wanted to go there, you can actually build a pretty beefy dana 44. rcv's, rebuildable ball joints, dana 50 ring and pinion conversion, 6 stud knuckles.....

keep the yota axles I dont give a :pokinit:. It aint my truck, he just has shitty luck with the diffs. Low pinion, hi pinion, 4cyl, v-6, welded, open, pro set up, set up by himself etc etc....

That 3.4l has some balls.  Maybe small japanese ones :haha: but it did do 45 mph, damn near all the way back to your house once we got on the roads.

Thomas P

good call on that mike, your front axle should never have to be touched again after that, ill work on getting my garage cleared out and get you a space if you waznt, and you can also drive my 2wd if you want until you get your junk put together

Thanks man.  Im not super worried about it right now.  I pulled my driveline off and drained the last remaining fluid out.   I was going to pull my diff and look at it but i didnt feel like doing it laying in the snow at my house.  At least i still have 2wd for the time being
