I dont understand how you have gone through so many diff parts dude. you need to get some parts from Tom's Differential in Ponderay, ID. he supplies Randy's Ring & Pinion and makes beef parts.

EDIT: dont see any toyota stuff in the catalog, but give em a call

I just don't understand how you break a side gear on an open diff.

I really don't understand how it managed to still drive with that broken on an open diff.  :dunno:

I wonder how long that was broken.   That rear diff has been in there a long time for myself. Lol.  I'd have to look but I think that went in before i went to rubicon

Edit. A little over a year and a half that's been in there. Early September of 2011..

thats just crazy. do you have bent axle shafts?

you could prolly sell your toy axles and have enough  money (or close) to put 1 tons under it.

Dingman.

So got my rock lights last week. Decided to rip my old ones out and install some of the new ones.  Ended up getting the front of the truck done which really isn't much.  Got 8 lights on out of the 20.  Took my time and soldered and heat shrunk them all.   Ran out of wire so I had to stop.  Any who here is a few pics.
Came in a strand of 20 lights for $35 bucks?

86bobbedtoy

sweet! howbright in your opinion? link?

Dingman.

Okay here is the deal.   Before running out of wire I have three in each front fender well, and two under the passenger side between the shackle and the skid plate.

I will be running the rest in front and back of the rear tires and under the middle and one above the rear axle.

I'll prob put the rest in next weekend, I just need to buy more wires.

But yea they are super bright for sure!! Camera doesn't do it justice

redrocket93

I have the same lights. I soldered and heat shrinked all 20 of them. What a tedious pain in the ass. They are super bright though.

Dingman.

Yea here is the link to the lights

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/lighting-electronics/1058739-rock-lights-under-50-strand-20-lights.html

They are superbright though so far I am happy.  Won't know for sure until I take the truck off road though

Dingman.

So here is a deal im debating right now.

A buddy of mine wants to buy my axles for $1200.  On top of the money he would give me his axles.
My axles:
Front 85' axle  with truss, diff armor, knuckle gussets, high pinion arb 5.29, 30 spline longfields, longfield hub gears, arp knuckle studs, trail gear highsteer, and vented drilled/slotted rotors, wheel spacers.  The rear axle is an open 5.29 v6 diff.

His axles:
85' front housing, stock except it has 4.56 open v6 diff, axle truss and diff arm, along with tg highsteer and fj80 rotors/wheel spacers.
Rear is stock except 4.56 open.

So as you all know i am sick of toyota axles and wanted to get a 60 front and possibly 14bolt rear.
This would put cash in my pocket to buy tons, or at least a 60 and set them aside and build them while still being able to drive my toyota if i have to.

What do you all think. I have had friends say yes, and others tell me i would be making a bad decision.
Basically id be getting $1200 to trade diffs, birfs and knuckles.

How much you want for the TV tree? :crazyjumpy:

Dingman.

Got my iroks on and man i forgot how shitty death wobble can be.  :stopit:

Might try airsoft bb's for balancing again.
Only seems to happen 40+mph according to my speedometer.  Actual speed might be 30-35

Dingman.

Dingman.

Replaced my power steering pump again because it was making noises.
I also got my on board air fixed (new idler pulley/belt)
As well as installed a "diff stud eliminator kit" and installed a rear spool.
