Ain't much, but here is an update so DTB doesn't get bored.  I know the joints aren't lined up well, it is just tacked up there to see if I got it the right size.  I do.  It will be coming off tomorrow to get cleaned up and fully welded.   :_order:

Rocksurfer

Interesting mount there, keeps it inside the bedline and you'll have a cushion if it leans hard enough to the right side.

All my fittings and hoses are here for the fuel cell.  I am just waiting on joints to finish one thing, then I pull the old tank.

I put together the mount for the fuel pump.  It will be welded on the inside of the frame rail round where the gas tank is now.

The carrier should accomodate up to a 38x12.5 spare.  I would like to snag a 38.5x11 bogger or something like that.

First you tack it all together real good, then remove a big section.  Fully weld the parts you can then put the section back on the truck.  Unfortunately, when building an exo, there will usually be a few joints where you can only weld about 2/3 of it.  Nature of the beast.  Try and plan for it the best you can.

Bend a peice of sheetmetal and slide it under the joint before you weld.

Did the part I was dreading.  I had to cut the tank out, every bolt rounded off.  Rusted nastiness.  The fuel pump has to go somewhere in this area.   :dunno:

no actually I meant your frame.

didn't we (read: CJ) beat that tank back into shape?

CTENG in KS

That ain't bad, just surface rust.  NOTHING like the back end stuff I cut off of there.  It will get cleaned up and painted when I weld the tray for the pump on this weekend.

You build the exo first (tack weld), remove it and fully weld and then put it on the truck
