The fuel gauge reads backwards due to the chevy sending unit in the tank.  Fine with me, I don't care as long as it works.

will it still show the low fuel light though?

I actually think it never gets full enough for the light to come on.  It is possible though with a super topped off tank that the light will come on.

So, the light is backwards too.

Needs a jump start, but as soon as I reinstall the flasher module she should be driveable/wheelable.

However, with the possibility of my moving, it may be more important that it is trailerable.

Since I may be moving I am slowly cleaning out the garage and I gots a bunch of scrap.  Figured its easier to move it as one piece, might as well practice my stick weldering.

Doing OK with the 6011 (on top) but the 6013 (bottom) gets like a molten puddle of lava and starts sliding and running all over the place.  Don't know why that is.

6013's  kinda suck,  very little penetration  but work great as a fill rod

did you try turning the heat down on the 6013?   looks like you were trying to make some art!!  LOL

it doesnt help with the 6013  its made for filling,  so  its  kinda crappy for any kind of  "penetration"

Looks like you move too fast. Give the slag its time to get on the flux`s surface. And perhaps a bit more electrode movement from left to right. If you make holes, turn the heat down and/or use smaller electrodes. A experienced welder told me this a few weeks ago and it worked well for me. Its worth trying it out...

I was able to move slower with the 6011.  Unfortunately the 6013 just wouldn't penetrate the thicker metal on the right and the slower I moved the more it puddled up and ran over the side.  I think I just stick to the 6011 for now.  I have some 7018 rod as well, but I can't even get that to hold an arc.  I think it may be the machine.  I have it wired for 120V right now and it just doesn't put out enough juice for the 7018.  I need to get another plug an rewire for 240V.

where a 6011  will hold  a nice arc  at90 amps  a 7018  needs  160 amps  for the same size rod



i used 6013's @ 90 amps when filling my  body panels,   but  for stitching i used a 3/32 6011 and 40 amps

That would explain it...the machine maxes at 140 amps on 240V, only get to about 100 amp at 120V.

I just bought the stick welder as a toy cause it was cheap.  I rarely ever even use it.

Since the CT has made the decision to stay in KS a little voice in my head was screaming "get back to work you lazy bum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

So it is time for my next big trick...LINKS!   

$15 at the Yard got me all the steel I need for the links and mounts...nice beefy box for the mounts...mmmmm...beeeeeef.

Is is not too exciting, but here is the progress.  I am of course using my favorite oval tube.  There seems to be an unending supply of it!

it will have poly bushings at the frame and ballistic joints at the axle.
