Rail is all finished!

I tried out my new step drill bits today.  I got the cheapo HF ones for like $15.  I should have got a set of these a LONG time ago!  These things are awesome!!

Hey...what you think of my new tig welding skilz!!??

IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Yes, but not at all in the way you think.

How do you know its not the way I think?

LOL  I figured one down tube would be great since the tire and bed would keep it from lateral toggle.

Cause the "brace" will involve no structure that is currently in the picture...it is a whole completely new part.

Working on the tire protection/brace.  It will rotate off a poly bushing to access the tire and bolt on with two of the lugnuts.

Check it out.  Redneck dimples!    :gap:

and what good is a flat spare? :slap:  do you think about things or just post random whorish messages?

CTENG in KS

Easy there children.  It is there for two reasons.  It provides a second plane of support for the tire since it is cantilevered off the flatbed.  It also should function as a skid plate/slider so I don't get hung up on the tire if I lean that side onto a rock.

It is tough to see in these pictures, but this is kinda how it will mount.  Joints STILL haven't gotten here yet.  I ordered this stuff last week.  I hate when things are slow to get here...  :maddest:

It also helps get rid of that "floating" effect the tire had before.

I tried to leave enough room to upgrade to a taller, skinnier spare tire.  Maybe a 38x11 bogger.  I am going to jump to a larger tire size soon I hope...was gonna go 38.5x15 boggers, but the 40 inch LTB's are coming out soon and they are very tempting.
