That would be awsome but the money does not permit this year.  I decided to go back to school starting August 20th and will be CRAZY busy for at least the next 2 years.

Right on, congrats on going back!  What are you studying?
Anyone who knows of a trailer in Wichita area let me know I need one.

The rear toob werk will have to wait until after MCR except for the rear bumper/tire carrier which is on the to-do list.

.

I am going to go back for Computer Aided Design then once that is done I am going to take Catia v5 so I can make a bit more money.  I am not quite sure of the "specialty" areas I can look into once I get school completed but I am looking into design drafting in aerospace.  I am pretty excited about it, I waited far too long to go back.
85 Runner, 5" All-Pro Extreme Lift, Complete Marlin T-Case with new TS 4.7 gears, Super Birfields(Longfields), 5:29's, Detroited front, Spooled rear, 36" TSL's, Bikini top.

Yes, Livin in Kansas sucks azz!!

That would put you werking right next to peep like me!

Good, fast Catia guys are a blessing to work with.  They make my job so much more bearable.

Uhhhh, the Beastmaster does NOT flat tow...
Besides, I wanna be able to wheel worry free about the trip home...don't wanna have to fix it if I tear and axle housing in half or something just to get home.

MCR laws say my bungee cords aren't gonna cut it for battery hold down, and its no fun to buy something...so I went to TS and got sum stuff to make my own.
First we use the battery to make a nice pattern and cut everything out.

Test to make sure the battery fits then drilled some holes so I can spot weld it onto the inner fender.

Then I used a big hinge, trimmed it to fit.  It is zink plated, not sure if the fumes are bad, but didn't take any chances.  Welded it outside with the respirator, held my breathe and did the tack and run...   :disturbed:
After that a bit of all thread on the other side and, then paint to make it less ugly.   :turtle3:

Yes, galv fumes are very bad for you.

While we are on that subject, don't ever use acetylene to solder on copper, either.

Yota4life

Zinc oxide dosent cause long term affects. If you weld it all day you will feel nauseous and have a bad headache. I know from experience and it sucks. If its a small job you will be fine, and if you do a lot just wear a respirator.

Seeing as I like to plan in advance, I am trying to decide what my post MCR path will be with the 4runner.

I came to one big decision...I am not going to buy 30spl axles...I am going to go str8 to 60's.  This is leading me down several paths...one of which would be to sell the runner.  I also would like to go the diesel route...love the mammoth.  So I was kina thinking, what if I were to find a nice beat up CUCV with the 6.2 TH400 60/14bolt and swap the runner body onto it?  Or maybe sell the runner and put an fj body on a CUCV frame?

I need to stop thinking I think.

Actually I have been considering pulling the cab and putting it on a whole other chassis...like a one ton diesel maybe.
