After my CO trip with 2 big flops, I dont think anyone will buy it now.

There is not a single section more than a foot by a foot that has a straight body panel.

I even crushed in the side of my hood this time and broke out a headlight.

"Later, I learned that even though I engage 4WD my hubs are not automatically locking? Something about manual locking hubs I think. What's manual mean? I need to read a manual to lock them? lol  So I found these neat autolocking hubs and installed them. Sometimes they dont stay locked while I am backing up, but that's fine because I dont have a backup camera to see where Im going (like our RV) so I just simply dont ever back up"- BigMike

I haven't had the engine running consistent enough for any long range tests, but I have been around the block a couple times and I can say with certainty that it makes cornering MUCH more bearable.  I would say it reduced my CONSIDERABLE body roll by about half.  I used to nearly stuff the outside tire in the fenderwell it would lean so badly.  Now it is just a gentle outward roll.

Got my booty-fabulicious exhaust sytem finished up this evening.  Don't mind the mitre cuts, I determined that they would flow just as well as the crappy prebent pieces towards the end and, meh, this is a fix the leaks kinda system.  NO PERFORMANCE HERE PEOPLE, carry on!

haha looks good to me.  :gap:

out of curiosity why not mount the middle section of the crossmember on the top instead of hanging down on the bottom?

CTENG in KS

I had moved it to the bottom originally to try to clear the header, but then it still wouldn't clear so I cut and shortened the header, just haven't moved it back up on top yet.

Now, that is an exhaust system. I love that flexible tube stuff. Where did you get that CTENG?

I might have to use one of my buddies as a guinea pig for that "hybrid" exhaust setup....

I was feeling crappy today so I decided to go weld something.  I made some extra bracing for my bumper.  Set myself on fire twice.
First I thought I might try that nifty looking trigger welding crap that poison spyder does.  Not as strong as a continuous bead, but hey, Im learninghere.
Let me just say that flux core wire does not trigger weld well.

Also, my guess is, that you need a large machine that can put a lot of heat into the weld real fast.

the other side I tried figure eights, but those stunk so I tried long ovals...went OK but I couldn't really see what I was doing and kept getting off track.

THen I wanted to try on a peice that was flat on the floor...so i did...the left bead was trigger.  crappy surface welds, the right was long ovals.

Every professional welder I've ever talked to say the same thing:  horseshoes.  You can go straight, but that seems to pile up more.  You can just zig zag back and forth, which looks better but still not quite as nice.  Horseshoes has yielded the best looking weld I've done, and looked like it got plenty of penetration.
