I still have a mark on my head from the breaker bar you beat me over the head with...I mean slipped off the crank bolt.

That'll learn ya... he he he.
I still have that motor too.

CTENG in KS

The 350, or was that the 22r we sold on ebay?
You moved that motor what, twice, three times?  How come you still have it?  Should build it and sell it.

Sweet...
Got a question for you...if you had just a std grinder, what type of pad and compound would be best to do a finish buff on a cheap paint job...like available at autozone kinda stuff.  This is cheap paint after a quick wet sand.  Enamel.

Don;t know if you saw this before Scott, any advice?

Unfortunately I am not familiar with off the shelf products. Here is what I would do.
Use a 3M untwisted wool pad <05719>
And 3M 3000 series extracut compound <06060> to start
Do not exceed 1500 rpms, stay off edges if possible.
Then follow up with 3M 3000 series swirl mark remover <06064>
On black foam pad <05726>
Use small amount of swirl mark remover and press firmly to apply,
Then use machine with light pressure to buff off.

The materials needed aren't cheap but results are flawless.

I'm sure you could find suitable products at AutoZone, if you do the technique should be the same.

I hope this helps.

Would I be better off buffing with a palm sander and buffing pad, or the grinder?  Grinder spin too fast?  The swirl remover is good for that final polish, huh?

Hey, I'm livin, moving to KS cut my rent in half, plus I got a place to work on the rig!  Course I'm mostly trying to get stuff invested right out of my paycheck so I never even see it.  In some ways, being single is a very good thing.

So I got to thinking, this sure is a lot of black, maybe I should pick an accent color for the drivetrain and traction bar and such things...but what.  I know, the only color that would work perfectly: International Harvester Red!
