Well they got the middle railing set on Thursday...then the appliances came on Friday.  *KINDA* wished they woulda waited on setting that middle railing!  Kinda ticked me off too because I thought I drew the house a little better so we wouldn't have any problems with moving stuff in and out.  The fridge was a MAJOR bizznatch to get up the stairs, but they did it and it's in there.  The contractors didn't want them to set the kitchen appliances where they go, so they're all just congregated in the dining room for now.

We also picked up all of the lights, and $113 worth of light bulbs!!  :thud:

I thought that mite be a problem when i first saw the pic. What was the issue.Wouldn't fit between  the rails or couldn't transition from the sill plate to the stairs with the hand truck?

OH and you DID get florescent bulbs didn't you

I think it was just a tight fit because the front door isnt directly in line with the stairs that go up, and they were being super careful not to bang stuff around.  I actually hid in the guest bathroom and refused to watch when they started bringing the fridge in.  I was just waiting to hear a big BANG or someone yell curse words...but it didn't happen.  LOL

95% of the bulbs we bought were those energy efficient spiraly ones, but a few of them took specialized bulbs that didn't come that way.  I think our house is very "green" for the most part.  We have the geothermal heat, all of our windows are Energy Star, as are all of our appliances.  And I don't know what else.  haha

Jan yalls house is so beautiful

Thanks Amanda!  :smooch:    With any luck, we'll get to live there someday!

I'm about to make our final (HUGE) interest payment on the construction loan, and our regular bi-weekly payments start on the 15th of this month, and it's still not done!

We're SO close, but it's just dragging on.  Here's what I know:

1.  We found out 2 weeks ago that our sandmound is 3 feet (THREE FREAKING FEET!!!) too close to our well, so our excavator has to come back and reconfigure that corner of the sandmound, and then it'll need re-inspected.  However, nobody has been back to actually do that yet.  No clue what the ETA is on that.

2.  The 3 kitchen cupboards that were screwed up are finally scheduled to arrive tomorrow.  However, it's hunting season here in good ole PA, so my contractors are HUNTING, and will hang the cupboards on Sunday.  :snare:

3.  Once the rest of the cupboards are installed, it's then a waiting game on the granite countertops, which of course should be "any day now."  Mmmm hmmmm.....

4.  Once the countertops/sinks arrive, the electricians need to come back to install the under-cabinet lighting in the kitchen, and the plumber has to come back to install all of the faucets and stuff.

5.  Other than that, there are a couple of miscellaneous inside items that the contractors need to do, like put shelving in our closets.

I've started putting color on the walls since it's just sitting there idle.  OH, and I got a new fridge since I wasn't happy with the first one.  The new one is stainless steel all the way around, has NO dents, and is counter-depth so it will fit much more nicely in the kitchen.

So anyway....we'll be lucky to be in by Christmas, but I'm not holding my breath.  :thud:

Thanks for checking in, everyone!  :wiggle:  And yes Koup, you need to get your :moon: up here ASAP!  haha.  Sundays are best if it's gonna be this year.  haha.  Brian's on mandatory 6-day weeks til the first of the year.  :(

So as it turned out, the countertops WERE coming any day....and the day was Wednesday!!  :woohoo:

And THEN, the plumber had a cancellation for today so he came to our house instead and so now we have running water too!!!  :hyper:

The excavator/sandmound guy finally called me and he said that we can use the sandmound as it is, even though it's not officially "done" yet.  All he really needs to do is reconfigure that one corner and then cover it up.  The only question is whether or not the code inspector guy who does the final inspection will let that fly.  We'll see!

My one contractor who is still worth a damn made tons of progress today as well.  And I started painting the "great room" and foyer.  All that's left to do now is put the shelving in the closets and have the electricians come back and do some odds and ends.

Lots more new pics in the bucket, feel free to surf it!   :D

Pour about 5 gallons of bleach down the well pipe.  Let it sit for about 3 hours.  Then remove all the screens from your faucets and turn on ALL of them.  Let them run for about 6 hours.  Should clear it up.   I moved into a house that had sat vacant for about 5 years and I had this problem too.  You may need to put a filter where the water comes into the house too.

Thanks for the advice Scuba Steve!  :D   We did pretty much that, but we didn't take the screens off the faucets first.  Do you think that's bad??  :ack:

The water has cleared up really nicely.  There's a slight sulfer tinge every now and then but it's not strong enough to bother me, so I think we're going to be good.

So yep, we're officially all moved in!  :hyper:   Now we're just sorting through the sea of totes in the basement and figuring out what's what.  But we've been staying here since 12/19.  IT'S AWESOME!!!!

It pretty much still feels like a dream.  We keep joking that we just feel like we're house-sitting for someone and any minute now they're going to come home and be like heeyyyy thanks guys, now get yer :pokinit: and get back to your basement!

We just got our internet and TV hooked up today, so I'm finally able to sit here at the bar in our kitchen and surf the net.  Brian and I have been off together for the last 2 weeks so we got to settle into the house together and it has been really  nice.  Now it's back to the old grind on Monday.  haha

I did manage to create an "All Done" folder in the Photobucket and slap a handful of pictures in there.  The very first thing we moved in was the Christmas tree.  hehehe.  I took it down on New Years Day though.  So anyway....check it out!

All that sediment can get caught in the screens and restrict the water flow.
