Thanks Ho!

Well the stonework on the front is pretty slow-going, but it's coming along and looking pretty nice!  I cropped the pic so only the done part is showing, that way we get a better idea of what it will look like when it's done.  haha

they start at the top and work down ???

I think more importantly they were starting at the corners and edges and working their way in....then they just kind of alternate top/bottom whichever way things start fitting together.  It's way more of a pain in the butt than I thought it was...I really feel for them.  LOL

Thanks Jill!  :smooch:   We're going to have a big ole pig roast as soon as it's done, but probably not until the end of November-ish.  If it pushes too far into the cold weather, maybe we'll wait until Spring, I'm not sure.  But all of our Marlin friends are invited!!  I'll be sure to post up the details here.

Also I just want to tell everyone, that my little Jillibean sent me a Homeowner's Journal: What I did and When I did it.  It was so sweet!  I can't wait to start writing every single detail in it!!

Alrighty folks, siding is finally DONE!  And we have somewhat of a front porch now.  And today I had to go pick out new ceramic tile because it, too, has been discontinued.  haha.  We already had to pick out new Pergo because that was discontinued.  Ugh!

The drywallers will be completely done and gone by Thursday or Friday of this week.  They'll start painting next week.  The Pergo is arriving on site next Thursday, and the kitchen is coming on the 28th!!  :willynilly:

:hahaha:  That's quite alright, the back porch is plenty big enough for LOTS of dogs!

OK so things have been busy around Taco Palace!  They layed the bathroom tile yesterday, a little bit of the Pergo today, they will be grouting the tile tomorrow, the stone guy is putting the stone on the fireplace tomorrow, the kitchen is coming on Tuesday, and today we got all of our appliances ordered!  OH, and they started the septic system this week too!  And got the Geothermal unit all fired up and running because it's been getting down around 30* at night.  OH and they painted!  haha.  Just all white for now.

whats the sandmound for?

It's part of an on-lot sewage system since we do not have city water/sewage in that area.

I have no idea what one of those is, but it's not like a big poo field or anything.  LOL.  There is a 3-compartment septic tank that gets buried way under ground.  Basically everything goes through the septic tank, solids stay in one compartment....I don't really know the gory details but I know everything gets filtered and treated and that soundmound is basically a drain field that only liquids go to, and I think they go into the bottom of it and get dispersed underground for the most part.  I know it's made of tons and tons of "sand" which actually looks like teeny tiny pebbles.  And then you have to have someone come pump out your septic tank every 5-10 years depending on the size of your household.

its similiar to a "leach field" but basically  the sand is used as a wick, it draws the moisture to the top to evaporate but keeps the bugs(mosquito's) away from the actual water

It would be considered a leach field, from the septic tank you will run the leach lines that the excess water is "leached" into and allowed to dissipate into the sand.
