you're going about this all backwards... chop first, think later lol.

You are definitely going to have more problem solving, splicing, channeling, etc to do than i did, but the end product will be unheard of.

I will warn you, the roofline has a gentle arch, front to back that you will have to address.  You know how short of an extra portion i added? and it still met together with a slight "canyon" i guess you can say.  So with the larger portion you're considering that effect is going to be even more obvious.... the rear portion will be descending where it would be getting close to the windshield frame and then BANG it meets the back of the original cab which it taller and more square.  Im sure that this has become obvious to you even in your photoshopping of solutions, its always just a little off.

Solutions?  I know youll find one that works well.  Im not sure what the best one is but im leaning towards cutting the roof almost completely out of the back cab portion, but leaving the upper window frame parts on each side (lots of structure there)  Then you can have some nice, flimsy adjustment that paired with some pie cuts, notches etc. should allow you to get a nice transition between cabs.  Then you can fab a roof section outta sheet and make it flow nicely from cab to cab...

Anyway, just thought id share, as i feel like the way i joined mine leaves a little to be desired.  Good luck man.

Got the cab stripped the rest of the way, then hosed out. Started planning on how to attack this thing. I think I could possibly get what I want done with 1 cab and a lot of work, but if I could find another standard cab(atleast the back half) then the whole thing would be cake, and cleaner than trying it using a 1 cab.

I need to knock out a set of half doors for the guy I got the cab done and then i'll get back on this.

Wow that is sweet.  I really like the handles on the bottom.  Did you say if you were going to make half doors for the back doors?  I read the posts but couldn't remember.  If not I think it would be cool to have rear half doors.  I definately think it would be easier to get what your trying to acomplish with a single cab...

axled89

back half door would be really sick.
i love oregon wheelin.

Talon84x4

When it's done i'm planning on selling my half doors and making tube doors for all 4

Yes, I tried to find a regular cab but couldn't pass up a nearly free cab. I'm also going to try and do a delete on the vent by the door so that I won't have two.

Thats awesome man. :beerchug: Yet another custom element to add to the whole thing. When do you think youll start hackin into the truck itself?

I reloaded the photo to image shack, and edited the post so i'm not sure what's wrong. I added a link below the photo that will hopefully work.

Okay, if it's working i'll delete the other posts. The firewall will get left off, but the front door jam section will get moved back to narrow the door

Talon84x4

To have a quad cab 2nd gen, to fit at least 2 more people on trips. I've also never seen someone do a 4 door 2nd gen and think it would be unique & different
