That *might* help, if there was any kind of shortage. There is not. In fact, Saudi Arabia said this week they are cutting production because they have more oil than they can sell. There is a worldwide glut instead of a shortage. And we all know oil is a global commodity.

As already stated, the price has been driven up by speculators (because of political unrest, and therefore possible problems in the future); nothing more. 

As I see it, the only way to stop that situation is to enact laws preventing speculative price hikes. And then enforce the hell out of those laws. Easier said than done.....

Yeah, like we can trust the Fed's to do a thorough investigation. It will take years for them to come to some sort of conclusion. By then we will have be raped into submission and be taking it like we want it.

I paid 2.74 here today, but I get a .60 discount with my grocery card, so it is around 3.35-3.39 w/o discount. I have not bought gas in over a month, so I was pretty happy when I found out I had the large discount.

How about an economic recovery plan that includes 6 months of free gas. Or how about a gas card good for 25 gallons free gas per week until Sept or something like that.

Yeah... great idea except it would all be funded by the government which means we will go even further into debt past the TRILLIONS we are already in, and there would be the potential for more taxes.

I am not against taxes if they help us get out of debt. Starting NEW programs to "help" people is not what I want done with my tax money. Once you start a new program they are all but impossible to get rid of.

Listen, if we had 10,001 unnecessary programs here and our operation was completely bloated like Comnifornia, then I'd expect us to cut the slack and pass the savings to people who keep our business alive (customers). Now teachers and unions and crap and literally begging for raised taxes here. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON

I have no idea what my dad is smoking, or who is talking to/hearing, but I talked to him last night and he claimed gas could go as low as $0.50 a gallon this summer. He seemed pretty convinced. Wouldn't that be awesome......
