Nail on the head. There has been no recent shortfall, and Saudi Arabia has pledged to make up for Libya's 2% global contribution as needed.

I believe infrastructure (distribution) is a primary reason, as well as lack of hydrogen manufacturing facilities on a massive scale. Hydrogen may well be our best long-term energy solution, but it will probably be a very long time coming.

Honda FCX Clarity.  :yesnod:  Many municipal buses use hydrogen also.

That makes sense, it's almost as if society doesn't want to put up an effort until we absolutely have to... I know Shell has hydrogen stations.

Check this national price map out: http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx

I am in one of the dark green counties in Wyoming. California appears to be completely dark red.

CA is red due to the blood-letting, we get shot 1st and usually just sit there and bleed to death.

Pretty sure we use Texas crude. I have read the stuff from Alaska is mostly sent to Japan. It's a global commodity, the going rate is the going rate. Even if all of our domestic needs were supplied from within the US, the price would reflect the global price.

Long-term, it's only going to get worse as world demand continues to increase. You can thank the rapidly expanding economies in places like China and India. And if you want to know who to blame for their booms, well, we'd better hide our mirrors, because we played a big role.

Shut-up! Isn't it funny how a line in the sand makes a $1.00 per gallon difference. Makes me want to move back there.

I think gas has been too cheap for a long time now. It's about time they started raising the price of fuel. Honestly it will be great to pay $7.21 per gallon of fuel later this summer :gap:
