Come awn guys, it's 2016, please stay on topic by not posting gas prices from the early 2000s.

Sorry to hear that, Nate. There is always a negative for every positive it would appear :(
X2. Sucks to see things like this.... yet while also being happy to see pump prices falling. As a consumer raised in the era of 90-cent per gallon fuel prices, paying $4 to $5 per gallon just kills me. That said, I can see how out of control government budgeting is crushing producers and oil industry employees with all these taxes. If fuel prices did return to $0.99/gallon then there wouldn't be any money left I bet. It sucks because it's not their fault that their product is being taken advantage of. What if we had to fork over to the government 50% of every Crawler we sold? We couldn't.

Curious, just did a Google search, found this page describing how CA fuel is taxed nearly $1.00 to every gallon: http://watchdog.org/232083/california-gas-taxes/  :conf:

Arrrrgggggggggg. Sorry but feels like I could complain and complain. Then we all get electric cars and can no longer have the awesome sounds of an engine nor operate that awesome clutch pedal nor experience the thrill of slam'n gears.....

BigMike

We have been around $2.09 for several months now.  I am enjoying the fact that $20 damn near fills my truck.  A year ago, I was lucky to get maybe 1/2 a tank for $20.

I'll take it while we got it, but it will go up one day. The Saudi's are losing money right now, and with China's economy tanking, who knows what a year or two will look like.  We live in a volatile economy right now.  Has anybody been watching the market?  One week its down, the next its back up.

You west coast guys have the best weather and terrain, but damn, I can't even recall now, the last time I paid $2/ gallon here in VA.  Been below that for a while now, for 87 anyways.
Of course, 93 octane is still north of $2.

The low fuel prices are killing jobs. It is actually terrible. Good for the consumer, but bad for people like me who work in the oil fields  :moon:

Sorry it hurts you personally but as a whole it is actually amazing for the economy. The fact is that when the middle and lower class spend less at the pump they spend more everywhere else. Which drives the american economy which is built around the consumer.

Ehhhh....not really true. The fact is that I don't know how things are in washington, but in the central valley most of the middle and lower class are employed in the oil fields. And i can personally tell you that multiple businesses in my town have taken around a 30-40% hit on revenues due to lost jobs. Just saying.......oil drives the economy.

SqWADoosh

Sure the local economies that are driven by the oil fields are not going to gain but that is a small portion of the nation. As I said I am truly sorry to see it hurt you personally. I know how that goes. Same thing can happen to me at the drop of a hat. For instance when 911 happened the airlines took the worst drop in their history. Which equated to them canceling their orders. Which then led to massive layoffs at my work. Luckily for me I didn't work for them at the time, but it can happen again at any time.

Cheesemaker

I agree, that its sad for the workers who makes a living off the oil fields.  But I don't have to watch how much driving I do between paydays.
