It isn't that bad :headshake:  I was wearing jeans and a sweatshirt at night last year.  Never hurts to be prepared though

Jeans and a sweatshirt and I would have been :tantrum: It was WAY too cold for my thin blood. 72* is too cold for my blood.
It's all relative. If you like it cold then you're good to go, if you're like me you'll be miserable.

It's not that cold at night.  I wore shorts and regular shirt on saturday night all they up till about 11pm.  then i put my sweatshirt on and still kept the shorts and it felt pretty good.  And i slept outside in my sleeping bag not even in a tent and i was actually kinda hot.  I don't expect it to get any colder in 3 weeks.

Bit off topic with the discussion,  but I think it'd be pretty cool if everyone put their board name on their windshield somehow.  Be it window paint, piece of paper taped to it, or a sticker, I think it would help different people Identify each other, even if they don't necessarily recognize the rig :dunno:

Are you talking about last year Hyena? Or a recent experience?
Last year Fri. night was probably in the 40's and Sat. night it got cold enough to freeze whatever drinks we had left out, we had frost on our table when we were packing it up.
Hyena must have polar bear blood to have been warm in that.
But it doesn't mean the temps will be the same this year. Every handles temps different, just be prepared if cold bothers you.

That's what I wanted to do last year. Then we joked about people swapping stickers. LOL!

Sounds about right Pat, but putting a SN and real name together really help to figure out who people are   Its ok though, if you wanna keep it a mystery, I won't tell :therethere:

Campfire Permits are designed for use on federally controlled lands including those falling under the US Forest Service, National Park Service, and Bureau of Land Management, and private lands that are the property of another person. On private lands you must also have written permission from the landowner for campfire use.

Permits are required for open fires, such as campfires, barbecues and portable stoves.

Permits are subject to restriction by local authorities. The need for restrictions is reviewed almost daily during the summer months and permits may even be suspended without advance notice. Permittees must check with local authorities each time they go out to an area.

Permits can be issued by the US Forest Service (USFS), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), National Park Service (NPS), and the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF).

Always:

Clear all flammable material away from the fire for 10 feet in all directions to prevent escape of the fire.
Have a shovel available at the campfire site for preparing and extinguishing campfires.
Have a responsible person in attendance at all times.
Extinguish campfires with water, using the drown, stir, and feel method.

From CDF web page

Any El Dorado Nat'l forest station or CDF station can issue campfire permits.  I'm not sure if you need one to have a stove or not :dunno:

Are the talking like our two burner propane stove? Dang cali's !

And in regard to people introducing themselves and telling you who they are, that would be great! As long as we are with the Mammoth everyone knows who we are, of course, and Last year we had SO many people coming up and going 'THE MAMMOTHS hey get to meet you' without actually telling us who they were, like we should just know, especially in the dark!
I kept having to ask "and you are?"

Anyhoo... please do come up and introduce yourselves, I want to meet as many as we can this year.
