Com'mon Tex, if us Floridians can deal with a couple nights of cold weather so can you! Get some insulated coveralls and a good warm hat. The good warm hat is the key to keeping yourself warm.

Last summer I bought a 12 volt Elect. blanket for the wife at Kragen,I ran it off my jumper box at night and charged it in the day time, it worked great. W/ our sleeping bags and tent heater we hardly got cold.  :eyebrow:

Mike ol buddy ol pal, are you going to post a list of registrants so we can see who is signed up for sure, and are we getting something that shows we registered so when we get there we can show that the camp site fee has been handled? Dash plaques would cover this nicely  :greengrin:

28 miles up the mountain.i would like to caravan with some one from the north bay,as of now i'm leaving thursday after work,hope to be at the at the slabs in time to setup a tent and wait for everyone to show up.. :beerchug:

And it's about the same distance from the KOA to the turn off of 50 @ Icehouse Road as it is from Icehouse Road to the trailhead.

But here is the location of the KOA (bottom left by the N. arrow), the turn off to Icehouse Road, Loon Lake and Rubicon Springs.

Yup, that's the one! Whats crazy is how close Rubicon Springs is to Loon Lake, but it took us over 6 hours to get there last year!

At Rubicon Springs? I would love to see something bring an RV in there :yikes:  :rofl:  I don't know what you already know about the trail or don't know, I don't want to assume so, for more info on the Rubicon Trail:  http://www.rubicontrail.com/ 
You won't be getting anything but a tent up there. Pack it in, pack it out.
It gets cold and I don't like the cold so I come prepared. You'll want at least some thermal underwear, a nice warm hat and we love our insulated coveralls!
Make sure you have a good sleeping bag and an in-tent propane heater works wonders but be sure to bring a few tanks. It'll go through a tank and a half of those small ones in a night.
