At Rubicon Springs? I would love to see something bring an RV in there :yikes:

Here's a sample of what it might look like.
Any man, in the right situation, is capable of murder. But not any man is capable of being a good camper.....So, murder and camping are not as similar as you might think.

Some men are alive simply because it is against the law to kill them.

Mike ol buddy ol pal, are you going to post a list of registrants so we can see who is signed up for sure
I know we have gotten almost 10 letters in so far, so I will start the list on Monday

Quoteand are we getting something that shows we registered so when we get there we can show that the camp site fee has been handled? Dash plaques would cover this nicely
We would like to have the dash plaques and the shirts ready soon, but we are waiting for a MCR5 Logo to get finished :gap:

I'll keep ya in the loop

what road off of Icehouse to the trail head ? (NF 13n 18 ? from google earth)

Lady Di

Kyota from the NorCal TTORA website: http://www.norcalttora.com/trails/rubicon.php

Directions: The most popular trailhead is at Loon Lake. Take highway 50 east from Placerville. Approximately 21 miles past Placerville, turn left on Ice House road. Follow Ice House road for about 25 miles. When you come to the fork in the road, stay to the right. To the left is Wentworth Springs (the traditional Rubicon trailhead) and to the right is Loon Lake, currently the most popular trailhead. You will pass two dams while driving around the west side of Loon Lake. At the end of the second dam, take a left and head down the spillway. Climb up the granite slabs and head for the trees. As you drop down the other side, stay to the right. This trail leads to the gatekeeper obstacle and the beginning of the trail.

noice! perfect thanks
now I just gotta get my tanks mounted and see what my range is on one 10 gallon tank. Made it all 3 days last year on one tank but this year I need to factor in 100 miles round trip to and from the trail.

Lady Di

We're going to have to bring extra fuel with us this year as well.
Marks going to make a bigger tank and we'll probably carry two jerry cans.

well if I were to run out it would be on they way back to the koa so I'd be on the highway at least and would be able to get a ride to get a tank filled close by. I should be good tho, like I said I did 3 days on one tank last year, so if I cant get 100 miles out of the second tank I'd be real surprised (and walking!  :talkingn:)

or someone could tow you back if you are set up for it. it takes nothing to put tow points on.
