I see the trend in my life is that I am in a constant state of 30 second and 5 minute or less prayers...  like Blackdog, just talking my Lord all day, keeping the communication line open....  If I feel led to pray longer I will, but the cool thing is that the Lord already knows what Im going to pray about before I pray, he just wants to hear it :)

Just to play the "devils advocate" here...

What you are saying is that your style of prayer, or prayer life, works well because it "fits" around your worldly schedule.  If God is to be our #1 it seems reasonable that He would expect us to spend some quality time 1 on 1 with Him every day.  My wife wouldn't be happy if I simply sent her numerous text messages, or short phone call, during the day and expect that she accept that as our entire relationship.  Quality time is extremely valuable in every relationship.

I should have some "free" time tonight so I will try to do a short Bible study on prayer and see what I find...

My prayer life "fits" into any schedule, wordly, spirtual, whatever.... because its not something that needs planning or great thought to get it done.. It just happens whenever... its constant communication with my Lord. Its having him as my constant companion! If you were with your wife all day in constant communication would you really need to stop and devote a huge portion of time to communicate? Or would you be on the same page at all times! My Lord is with me all the time... knows everything and hears everything.. sure I have devotion time where I read his word, and I have prayers that are more in depth.... Think of the Trinity...  The Father never has to have a meeting with the Son, and the Holy Spirit to catch up on whats going on.. because they are One! They always know whats going on... and the Holy Spirit is in us.. Christ lives in us! He doesnt leave me because I havent had a big prayer for a while.

God definitely should be our #1 priority, and as stated, we should spend 1 on 1 time with him everyday.  However, I do not beleive this is restricted to prayer.  I think this is what the meaning of "quiet time" is all about.  A time to sit with God, chat with him, and learn more about him, through the Bible.  I think God would rather be involved in our lives throughout the day with short prayers than have us in the attitude of "gotta do my quiet time, and then be done for the day"

The original topic of this thread is, "What do you think of Christ."

We as Christian members have a wonderful opportunity to show God's love to Glen by providing some financial support to help with the expenses associated with his father's death.

To be honest, I normally I wouldn't provide financial assistance for an "online" cause, but in this case I think that it is an excellent way to show Glen that the Christianity that I profess on this board is real.

In the past I have thought differently about relegion as I do now. Now I am trying to learn about different ones, not that I am really going to get involved in a relegion, it is just good knowledge.

God has worked so distinctly in my life.  I am so blessed by Him.  And my wife who patiently prayed for me and waited for God to do His work.  And He used her, with my temper...to make me angry enough with my father to really start looking into things and proving things by the bible.  It is true...He uses the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.  My weakness was my temper and feeling of inadequacy, and my strength was my stubborn ignorance.

Not to mention the use of some co-workers. It was all well orchestrated.

Am I the only one out here? Every time I read Moron instead of Mormon.  :smack:

I cannot express the joy and excitement i feel, and at the same time, the sadness.  There is this overwhelming sense of freedom that I can finally, without pride, admit that my beliefs were misguided, and yet I have a heaviness of heart for my family and friends that still won't swallow that pride.

NO4X

and yes...moron comes to my mind everytime a group denies the true character of Christ.

I grew up in a christian  home , I am very greatful of that. I know without god I would have been dead years ago. Survived a couple very good car crashes last one I wasnt wearin a seat belt and my buddy went off of the road into a 20ft ditch and bounced his landcruiser off of a tree and up on its side landing on a rock. There were loose cinderblocks(concrete) just behind my rear seat that never went airborn(not even tied down) . I got shot in the back of the head while doing drive testing (collecting cellular data) for Nortel Networks by some people we honked at for being stopped at a green light. The bullet stopped dead on my skull. Being a christian gives you something to look forward to in life. It especially is easier coping with death if a family member or someone you know passes away and they live a christian life (accept god and ask him to forgive their sins) you know they are in a better place. And that you will hopefully see them again some day.

The question I have is how to reach out to them without putting them on the defense.
