Project Minesweeper(NEW PICS)
« on: Aug 30, 2005, 11:42:53 PM »
im finally about to start buildin up my truck.
i picked it up in april of 05 for $800 and its my first car/truck and im extremly happy with it so far. its  toyotas= its my DD/weekend wheeler so im going to do an army theme with the truck. one reason is because i never see anyone really doin it with their yotas. id just like to do something different.
here are the specs on my truck now.
-85 toyota pickup
-87 22r out of a 2wd yota with about 150k on it
-3" body lift :stopit:  (it came on the truck)
-32" bfg m/ts with 25% left
-custom camo door panels
-bucket seats
-no front bumper
-cb with 9ft whip antenna
-center console made from a .50 cal ammo box
-2 1/4" tubing to a flowtech glasspack
-rust

what i have planned:
-custom lift: 54" chevies in back, rears up front
-Tires: 33's or 35's
-rock crawler wheels
-sound system
-detroit locker in rear end
- :turtle: hy-steer
-power steering conversion
-olive drab paint
-canvas canopy with skeleton frame
-on board air
-thorley headers
-grant steering wheel
-8000lb winch
-propane conversion
i could go on and on but there is too much to list. :gap:

the build up is going to be slow because i dont have a welder and the tools necessary to do most fab work so i gotta go to friends houses to use their stuff. but stay tuned. and suggestions are always welcome.

this should be lots o fun :)  meanwhile here are some pics of the soon to be, project minesweeper...

I have the same console! But the lid keeps falling off. Lots better than a real "console" that you see all the time.

oh yeah it looks like it was straight from the factory! haha
to keep it from moving around i just super glued the square piece of rubber that was in the lid. works well.

That is a really really nice starting point for a project and it really doesnt need much to be a good wheeler!

thought i would do an update but i havent really done anything. except i messed up my door pretty bad. and ive got some new future plans. im learning as much as i can about the 7MGE swaps. id like to do that for my senior seminar next year. the only thing im worried about is the wiring and all that. ive also been trying to get my suspsension done. ive only got the front f250 shock towers on so far. and i dont have all the right tools so i had to do it at a friends but we werent able to finsih and then next day we did my friends truck insted. ???  oh well im planning on finishing it this weekend. i really need to get my own welder and torch and all that stuff. i could have so much done on my truck. tire wise, im planning on possible picking up some used 34x10.50 LTB;s for around $300.  it seems like my truck is getting uglier everyday. as soon as suspension and tires are done im doing a paint job asap. im going to go for a really bright white. anyways here are a few pics to keep you guys entertained until i can get some real work done. :gap: oh yeah and now the trunion bearing on the OTHER side is now going out. so awesome :stopit:

time for an update. the front end is just about done. i got the springs in place. all i need to do is connect the new SS brake lines, drop drag link, and U bolts. as for the rear i need to get my friends welder over here so i can get the rear hangers on. i set one of the s10 springs on there just to see where its gonna be and i think it will turn out good. :beerchug: i hope to have the truck driveable by this next weekend so i need to kick some  :moon:  and finish it up. i just need to install a master cyl and get new u bolts along with getting the rear end done. so stay tuned i will be doin updates through out the week and i get more done on the truck

suspension is done-rears in front and s10's in back it gave me a good 4-5" of lift sitting on 33" ssr's i got for free  . it would be driveable except for when i was welding the rear shock mounts in place i spark caught the rear SS brakeline on fire, i thought it had only burned the clear coat off until i tried bleeding them and brake fluid was just squirting out of the hose. so i have to get a new one. good thing i get paid tommorow   :beerchug: . but anyways here are some pics.

speaking of that,
I bought that and currently all i am using is the flaps.

If you want the brackets to do that , I have them and i payed out the arse for it.
Hate to see someone else do the same.
Let me know, I'll hook you up.

I got busted the second day after I started driving the truck daily again, 6 months ago, and I wasn't have as bad as yours is
