:yikes:  I actualy got some work done in the 5 days I was in the US. Had some help from my brother in-law :hammer: and my bud Big Will (the human forklift). When I got home and drove Pete to town to clean it up a little before I started yanking the motor out it was smoking a little and ran a little hot but what do you expect for a motor with a cracked piston and head and a blown head gasket..? This engine build will be posted over the next few days. Nothing really special just a  decked 22re block forged flat tops eagle rods ect...ect...ect any way enough typing here are some picks of the tear down...

In the shop :woohoo:

pictures are great for vacume lines

this is about where they started asking where the beer was....   :disturbed:

Ummm it is out that was easy...

and the in the engine bay shot  :eyebrow:

ok that was the first day of the build and it was time to find the some  for the help so we rolled the doors down on the shop and off to the store we wnet... more tomorrow

Well I stumbled across a R151f that has the rear housing I am needing for my r150 tranny and now i dont have to buy but one adapter. I may just swap all of the internals from the R150 over to the R151f case but ill look into it when I get back to it. and i got a spare front axle out of an 83 truck complete hub to hub. never hurts to have a back up.
Big thanks to Eric

Now I just got to find another t-case and then give  :turtle: a call.

:disturbed: I got a litte time so I though  would give a damage report on what all was wrong with the motor that  pulled out of Pete..

Here is what almost 400k miles does to a clutch... it still worked good  that grove is about .045 deep... and yes I replaced it along with the master and slave cylinder.

The damage found on the old motor was ......

A blown head gasket, cracked head (3 places), one cracked piston, one piston with a broken skirt, .205" endplay in the crank shaft :yikes: , timing chain and guides were WTFO and a bad radiator/fan clutch. It still ran like a top just overheated if you drove over 70 mph...    Gotta love Toyota. All the main and rod bearings still looked great but the thrust washers were how can I say this... ummm...  :bumpinbutts:
