Well, as for having surge brakes, backing up an incline or decending a grade are where they show their downside. What you are experiencing is a normal operation. (nature of the beast).
Your only real choices here is to replace the trailer or do an electric conversion. Do your homework to see what either will cost you if you decide to do something about this issue.
I would be embarrassed to have you look at some of my wiring haha! im gonna try a few more things myself then if i cant get it to work we shall go from there.
