Is it all together and sitting on the ground?  ??? :snapshot:

no we got the spring on, i need some longer ubolts, and to remove a leaf, then weld up the hangers. as soon as i get my parts ill continue.

1. replace brake line with longer one
2. remove leaf from each side and see where it sits
3. weld up brackets
4. bolt axle to leaf springs
5. hook up drive line
6. (hopefully without taking the roof with me) drive out of shop
7. shock placement
8. bump stops

Thought you was gonna just leave the 5 leaf set up amd see first. Is it because you plan on just reusing your existing u-bolts? :headscratch:

I got a ubolt flip kit from Dave for free and they are too short for that spring pack, and the 5 leafs give me way too much lift in the rear from what we alas way the mock up, so I'm going to bring it down to 4. I don't think I can keep the 5 leafs on there and get it out of the shop due to ceiling clearance haha

So this is finally happening! I've seen so many different suggestions as to where to place what it will make your head spin. Any suggestions? Right now it's about 4 1/2". I have a 6" rear shackle, it's sky's kit. They have a small write up saying it should be at 2-2 1/2" but that would require taking out the existing hangers which I'm going to do anyway, but I need to disconnect it all to do it. Just wanted to get some ideas from people here.

I have always mounted the sky rear hangers right where you have them and they have always worked good for whatever rig it was on. I usually just add the extra length of the Chevy's vs. stock Toyota's and move the front hanger up by that much (putting the rear axle in the stock location)  :twocents:

Never seen those shock mounts. I like it. The more yotas I've had and rear suspensions I've done, the less I lime the upside down v design.

Thats probably because they are hand built one-off custom mounts. Thanks! Compliment well received. :)

I believe they are 1/8". Plenty strong in a double shear set up like they are. 1/4" is a bit much but will work just fine.

since its bought and paid for i will make it work, just will be extra beefy haha

Ok here is the list for the current project:

1.Weld hangers in
2. Mount springs
3. Replace and Bleed brakes
4. Mount shocks
5. Mount bump stops
6. Box in rear frame
7. Install gas tank
8. install seat
9. Test drive

Need to buy one shock tab (have the rest), 4 ubolts and hardware.

Next project:

1. replace shocks
2. Replace shock mounts on axle
3. Replace clutch

Need to buy clutch and pressure plate, shocks and shock mount.

Spent some time today assessing things and cleaning up the shop to get if back to square one, like to work in a clean organized space where I know my tools are where they are supposed to be. Cut off the old hangers yesterday (most of I them anyway, still some remnants).
