So this is finally happening! I've seen so many different suggestions as to where to place what it will make your head spin. Any suggestions? Right now it's about 4 1/2". I have a 6" rear shackle, it's sky's kit. They have a small write up saying it should be at 2-2 1/2" but that would require taking out the existing hangers which I'm going to do anyway, but I need to disconnect it all to do it. Just wanted to get some ideas from people here.

What length leafs are you using and what is your center to center measurment from hanger to hanger the way you have it now?

brockbuilt85

The replacements are chevy 63s and I haven't decided how far forward to mount the front hangers yet. I'm probably going to have to tack it in and see where it ends up

If you're going with Chevy 63's the front spring hanger (bolt center line) should be 11 inches forward from the stock hanger position. This should place your rear axle in the stock location. Then you can place those rear hangers pretty close to where you have them positioned in your pic...maybe slighty rearward more depending on the shackle angle you're looking for.

OH! Almost forgot... for the best (and cheapest option) also use the stock Chevy 1/2T U-bolts and spring plates as your U-bolt flip kit. The bolts are 5/8 and fit the Toyota axle perfectly. The U-bolts are bigger than any other option out there for this.  :yesnod:

actually the cheapest option is the free ones i got from dave haha :gap: not sure exactly what they are, but they seem to be bigger than the ones i got for the front ubolt and plate wise.

Was that from a 1/2T? Maybe just run it and see if you like it first. If you don't then pull a leaf.

are you going to run the overload too ??? if so ya wanna cut it down a bit on each end

Keep the overload leaf. If it flexes that far up it will keep the spring from going past flat and arching upward.

MRHilux87

On both my runners that I ran 63s in I removed the overload and added another thinner spring to give it a little more lift and better ride.  I think I found an f150 spring that was the same width.  Last time I tried the 3 leaf + overload 63s and they worked better for me.
