A relay set up off of your ignition would be simple. It will turn on and off when you turn the car on and off.  The down side is it will be on the entire time the ignition is on.

Another thought would be to use a relay and have the relay triggered by temperature instead. This way it will only come on when needed.

The problem with that for me is that I would forget the toggle.  Even with the sign.  hahaha.

it kicks on at temp now, but its on the same fuse block that i have all my extra lights, cb, stereo and so on. i could just wire it to constant 12v and it will kick on at temp, but i dont want something to go bad on it and have a draw then be stranded.

Man looks like a rough trip :o

Are you going to try to straighten the bumper?

Regarding your e fan issue, check for a broken driver's side motor or crossmember mount. I had a broken motor mount so I performed the Marlin Bolt Mod and replaced it -- night and day difference! My water pump pulley no longer goes into my fan!

Marlin has been doing it for years now. Take a stock mount, broken or not, and grind off the top side stud. Then drill straight through the entire mount all the way through the lower metal plate. It can sometimes be tough as the rubber causes a lot of friction on the drill bit, so you may have to drill part way from both ends. The only issue here is trying to keep the holes aligned and true. Then we run a long bolt inserted from the bottom plate and up through the top plate where the stud used to be, using a bolt of equivalent resulting length to match the length of the original stud. Then reinstall the mount as normal. We use delrin bushings between the bolt head and the lower plate to reduce vibrations and make sure you use a lock washer so you can keep the bolt in place without over tightening the rubber mount to death.

This is why we don't offer any aftermarket engine mounts. We don't like them and none of us use them. They are too rigid and cause too much vibration. The nice thing about the Marlin Bolt Mod engine mount is that it is a one-way lock: It still has the factory feel for compression as the bolt is just simply unloaded. Marlin says it's only needed for the driver's side mount, since that mount is forced to expand during acceleration (and the load is transferred to the bolt instead of the soft rubber) but I also run one on my passenger's mount to get a "tighter" drive train feel during the transition from acceleration to coast.

The cost is simply a bolt, a few washers, the delrin piece and your time to modify it. Waaaaay less expensive than aftermarket rigid mounts and they cause Very minor difference in vibration. It's something that only the daily driver will notice given the right variables. After two days I could no longer tell it vibrates more than stock and I'm running them on both sides.

Marlin even carries these bolts assembled with the washers and nut, and when we come across a broken mount on the trail we drill it out and convert an otherwise trashed item into a Marlinized jewel. Just ask Talon84x4 about it. We repaired his broken mount at the Thompson Lake camp ground a few years ago on the Dusy/Ershim trail

Throw that bumper away Cody it's trashed, build a nice beefy 2x3 1/4 wall bumper.

Or just cut the center out and replace it with 1/4 wall square or rectangle tubing.  :twocents:

both are brand new HD stuff thats what perplexes me even more!
and i have bent it back kinda, not sure what else i can do besides take a torch to it, and it seems like a lot of work if its probably going to bend back.
Throw that bumper away Cody it's trashed, build a nice beefy 2x3 1/4 wall bumper.
seems like a waste since i payed all that money for it lol
and as far a modifying it, i might just do that, or i might just keep a BFH handy in the rig to pound it back enough to get the tailgate open haha

anyone have any ideas on my idle problem?

Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days.
Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic.

so i want to do RUF, but my rears are tweaked and im having troubles finding decent used ones local, thinking about buying new springs. should i just buy a set of front lift springs and keep current hangers and put in  hysteer? (right now i have ghetto 4" block lift, dont want it to be any higher, but dont mind dropping a little height,)

all the new rear springs i can find are lift springs, that will jack me up to high if i put those up front with a new hanger yes?

all pro has some bit they are pricey, was hoping to just find a stoc replacement rear and throw it up front. also looking to nit break the bank.

Suggestions??

Thanks in advance

Got the idle problem fixed, pig runs better now than ever. welded some d-rings on my trailer, need to paint them but its so damn cold i dont think it would dry right. I had to YELLER it and no op/take insurance off for a while, mainly because my truck registration is due the same month and i was not driving it anyway, ill get it back on in the spring.

got some rear springs last night! and my brother thinks he may have shock hoops and shackles i can use! if thats true all i need to buy new is a front hanger and shocks! (might even have shocks that will work temporarily so that would be neat!) the only problame i see is i might have to hack at my front bumper a bit to get the hanger to work, but we shall see!
