85 SR5 RUNNER BUILD. Bobbing The Runner!
« on: Oct 13, 2008, 09:50:47 PM »
Hello, :welcome:
This is my first time doing this online. I want to show you all how I am going to swap my whole truck to a runner.  FYI I updated this (oct 18 2008)
Below is my first post when I did not know what to do.
Thanks for looking and enjoy! :therethere:

<embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i184.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid184.photobucket.com/albums/x67/bmwracercl/DUNETRIP31608023.flv">
This is a video before I put 5.29s locked it up, put all pro complete lift rebuilt the 22re. I have about $13,000
I rolled my 85 Toyota that was real pretty on her lid.
This is the steps I took to try to fix it. I got a donor truck and cut the roof off it to put on mine.

When I cut my roof every thing started well. I then put my new doors on. driver fit great no problem. but the passager did not fit. It was not because of the roof which is not on the truck yet. Only the pillars and xtra cab is on the truck still. The space between the gap of the door frame was about 2incs to small :dunno:

So maybe the frame got bent idk? I will get some pictures up soon.

I figured pictures would be more helpful. So should I swap cabs or get a new cheap truck and swap my motor, bumpers, sliders, lift, running gear, and my good lights and that other good stuff? OR should Get one thats already done up nicely?

If the frame is bent then buy a truck that needs an engine & swap everything.

Thats how my truck looked when I rolled it...

A high lift, floor jack and some blocks of wood it looks like this now...

You should have just tried straightening it before cutting your cab off.

Sick truck man. Bummer about the flop, but you will have another sick rig once you swap everything over. Where you located?

Thank you.
Yesterday I spent 18 hours working on it :flamer:. Got the motor, tranny pulled, all running gear off, and IFS steering box off my pickup .
On the 4runner I got all my suspension on, axles and IFS steering box mounted. The worst part about doing this work is grinding. lol   :beerchug:

Motor and Tranny are next to go in the runner and I will be done. Monday is my goal to finish the truck
