 why couldnt you use your original sliders and rear bumper from teh truck?

They Both did not fit right. The rear mounts are alot different and the sliders were to long. I could have made the rear worked but did not want to work that hard on it. The sliders I could have cut down to size but did not want to.
I sold them on craigs list for what I payed for them.

rear bumper wont fit and sliders are probably beat up and welded on

your right for the most part. sliders were fine just to long.

you should have a w-56 in your truck which means you need one more top shift t-case to use as a reduction box. you already have one in your truck. you need an adapter. obviously you will need to hold them up somehow so a homemade/bought crossmember will be needed. driveshaft work to lengthen/shorten them to fit. if your saying you want twin sticks. buy them, you have to take out a detent ball when you install them. everything is very simple

the picture on page two of the tranny on the ground has a forward shift... if thats the tranny and t-case setup you have you need one top shift for the back case and use the one on the floor as a reduction box..... but the efi motor out of your truck should have had a w-56 and top shift behind it

you can also modify it like this instead of buying new shifter rails. http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=689231&highlight=top+shift+conversion

no it will be fine.... i assumed you would have a w-56 from your truck since its an efi motor and the w-56 came with those motors stock. the tranny you have is from a carbed truck.

so you need :

a top shift case.... or a forward shift case and use the link above to convert it to a top shift. for your back case. you will use the one you have as your reduction box

an adapter

a crossmember

driveshaft work

cut a hole in the floor

Is there any problems with the carbed tranny?

usually a carb trany is a G52 or G54 they aer not as good as the W56 is most likely you have a W56a or b so it has a top shift T-case if you can find another top shift case from the same model you'll be good to go just get an adapter

It has a plug in on the tranny if that makes a difference? I had to plug into the wiring harness that goes with the motor. Do the carbed trucks have this?
