What gears would you recommend for a 1988 22re? Looking to start doing stuff to my mostly stock 4Runner.

What tire size do you want to gear for?  My 89 22RE 4Runner is on 4.88 gears and does great.  My personal suggestion would be the following:
32 inch tires max for stock 4.10 gears
33 inch tires go 4.88
35 inch tires go 4.88 or 5.29
37 inch tires go 5.29

I don't have any experience with tires less than 32x10.50 so can't recommend anything for smaller tires.

1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.

Mudder [08:28 PM]:   not try to be a jerk, but are you serious bestgen?
Prismo [06:11 PM]:   Done, time to relax or as Bestgen says....FREEDOM!
HogCanyonHopper [06:54 PM]:   I like my little rod. it gets the job done

I bet that's where he got his idea. As far as like one gear over another, I've ran a few different brands and have spent time researching before each purchase. The g2s I am now running I  my d80 and in my Toyota 8" set up nicely and are very quiet. Checked the 80 at 10k and looking great. I just have had a good experience with them so far.

I installed gears(529s). Didn't get many pics, as my hands where oily. I also replaced rear bearings, and seals. Officially 10 miles on the gears.

Shits clean dave. See you at mcr!!

Some the rubber weatherstripping on the rearward side roof, that sandwiches between removable top, and roof of 4runner has developed holes, and cracks. Fearing that this may lead to and avoidable leak in the winter time, I have decided to fix the problem. After looking online for oem part, I found out it's no longer available. Having not owned this 4runner since new, I have no way of verifying that current weatherstripping in the original. I did find some universal weatherstripping at my local auto parts store( o'rielly's). I cleaned the heck out of the area before installing. I used denatured alcohol. Here's a couple pics.

Was bored today, so I decided to move my 2 coils on my 98 3rz, to the firewall. 1st pic is where they are stock. I did need to make a bracket for coils, everything else was just re routing wires.

I do not know about that 1, but there is no need to get an after market bracket, just cut the back wall off of the factory bracket and scoot it p to the back of the new pump. lastly drill in the new hole and run a single straight bolt through. I'll dig through my parts and find the 1 I made and post of pic of it.
