I'm just one of the people that hates to pay for something that I can do myself, I mainly bought the sewing machine because when I can barely move from back and neck, it still makes me feel productive

Next thing you know everyone will be buying sewing machines along with other tools.
Keep it up and i see you having a side business, i know if you could make a decent soft top people would buy them.  Along with other stuff you have made.

All jokes aside this is seriously a wide open market. I know I have had to search high and low to find the soft goods that I have and I still am left wanting for the majority of it.

I've been thinking of picking up a sewing machine to fix the ripped crotches in my work britches, and this is the kind of side projects I was wanting to do, too!  My oe tool bag for my 91 finally came apart and I want to build something more like yours with a better stock, but one that will still fit in the oe position.

And where'd you get the nylon looking material?

It's called flat nylon webbing, most hardware stores or marine stores should carry it, I found it at west marine , I was picking up vent for water tank

kneedownnate

Gotcha, thanks!  Considering West Marine's prices, if you were to need it in any quantity I am sure you could save tons of money sourcing it somewhere else
