I used the tacoma cluster which I think has the vss built into it. sends signal to the ecu. I had no vss code when I got my truck reffed. I had an EVAP code, a bad gas cap , and no brake signal to the ecu. fixed those and was good to go
The VSS signal comes from the speedo on the older trucks. You can use that for the VSS to the ecm. That is how mine wired and it works fine. By the way this thread has inspired me, i just got a great deal on a Borg Warner K-16-24 dual scroll turbo off an XC- 60 Volvo with 35k on it. Worth 25 bucks lol. Love the build!
No, no build thread on it, at least not here. I have one on YT, but not really updated. If you give me the year of your truck, and the donor truck year, i can get you the schematic for the clusters and powetrain. I have tons of repair info at my disposal. You get that tach working yet?
The tach is working great with the resistor mod! I have an 84 SR5 gauge with tach, donor is a 2000 4runner 4x4 manual 3rz COP (4 coil) That would rock. Gonna get this CEL to go away. Surprised the bulb has lasted this long haha
