Got the hot pipe on and filled the system with coolant. Also took this time to install a new lower radiator hose that doesnt rub against my steering shaft.

What do i do with this here vacuum line from the fpr?  :think:   Just hook it back up to the intake pre turbo i suppose..

Checklist: Configure air filter/maf to turbo, figure out where to plumb vacuum line from fuel pressure regulator thingy, configure the exhaust, Install boost gauge, AF gauge, Fuel pump, finish mounting boost controller... x2 check everything.    :crossed:

Started it up.  No leaks. Everything seems to be working as it should. I could kick my buddy square in the  :willynilly:  for not ordering my other goodies sooner. Really not looking forward to the down time til I get the gauges and pump on tuesday

I hooked my fpr up after the throttle plate on the intake plenum cause I read that if it's hooked up there it senses when you're in boost better

Also, does anyone know if I will need to use a A silicone coupler from intake to turbo inlet? I'm assuming a standard type that I have laying around will melt under hi temperature?

So this is what I have mocked together for an intake.  I just need to make a metal version.

I think this is a very clean looking set up. Only thing I may have to do is lengthen the wiring harness for the MAF sensor to get it away from the HOT turbo. Or maybe insulate the wires and call it a day.

I used a regular coupler from o Reilly and it hasn't melted. Good job on gettin er runnin!

NO TUNE ...boost controller on minimum boost setting. No idea how much boost is getting slammed in there. no idea about AFR.... Garage reeks of unburned fuel from exhaust. Still agrovated about not having my gauges due to laziness.   :therethere:

That is BAD!

I have been keeping my eye out for a turbo for mine. I homebrewed a twin turbo kit for my 5.0 Mustang many years ago, before turbo's were all the rage. Where I work we have Volvo dealer also, one of the Volvo techs has a 3RZ in his tacoma and has been watching my build, he has an insurance flood job where they are putting a used engine in. He came over today to let me know if the used engine has the turbo on it, he will be bringing it over for me. hopefully I can work something out to get a little bit of boost on mine.

I will be following your thread, your build is going to kick but.

I was looking into a Mega squirt on my 22re, but decided the 3rz swap was a little better option.

Nation, did you ever get your tach worked out? I have not had time to read through all the posts. I am not sure how the signal from the pcm on the COP computers compare to the Dual Coil engines, but I was able to do the resistor mod on the tach and have mine working just fine.
